Stamford University's vision of becoming recognized as one of the premier university from last ten years in the nation is evident by the milestones that have been accomplished over the years.Through strategic planning, Stamford University continues the transition to being a leading institution of higher education not just in Bangladesh but in the sub continent, and the world.• Stamford University's vision of being recognized as one of the premier institutions in the nation has been realized, as evidenced by the milestones of the accomplishments of last 11 years.

• Following a series of discussions and information sessions involving students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the greater community, the Board of Trustees approved a new long range strategic plan articulating new directions for Stamford University.

• We are grateful to these diverse groups for their innovative suggestions and support and planning during the development of this document.

• This strategic plan outlines an enhanced vision of excellence in academic programs, greater emphasis on student success beyond the walls of Stamford University, expected scholarly contributions in the areas of instruction, research, creative expression and service, and the continued development and expansion of partnerships on all levels.

• Defining ourselves by the quality of our academic achievements is a deliberate strategy that has made transformation a reality on our campus.

• This vital planning document is designed to launch the University on a journey of excellence that has characterized its mission from its inception. The Long Range Planning Committee has worked tirelessly to create a dynamic plan that preserves the legacy of Stamford University while ensuring that the future is bright.

• We will continue to make academic excellence our number one priority and badge of identification. The University's navigational tools include its vision statement, mission statement, guiding principles, and long range strategic goals. This document outlines the navigational tools that that have been formulated to guide the work of the University over the next Two/Three years and beyond.

•I challenge all members of the Stamford University family to acknowledge what is presented in this document as a road map designed to continue the transformation while moving the University in new directions and to even greater levels of excellence.

STAMFORD UNIVERSITY

Stamford University will be recognized as one of the premier institutions in Bangladesh also offering select graduate programs. To that end, the University commits to a concept of excellence in teaching, research, creative expression and service in which students, faculty, staff and administrators drive the quality of educational opportunities toward being the best of the best.

At the center of everything we do is a system of values informing and guiding all policies and programs. These values, expressed through our decisions and actions, are defined by five over-arching guiding principles:

STAMFORD UNIVERSITY MISSION STATEMENT• Stamford University is a progressive, independent, co-educational, historically Global institution affiliated with the world renowned universities. It was chartered and continues to provide educational excellence and to prepare students without regard to gender, race, religion or ethnic origin.

• It is committed to offering quality undergraduate programs, select graduate programs, and viable continuing education opportunities.

• At the undergraduate level, the Universityensures that students receive aquality education designed to produce graduates who understand themselves as well as historical and social forces that impact the world.

Their academic experiences include an understanding of religious and aesthetic values in a universal context and a thorough grounding in their chosen discipline. Their education incorporate the use of technology, exposure to recent scientific developments and inculcate critical thinking and communication skills in order to prepare them for leadership and service in a global, multicultural society.

• At the graduate level, students are provided instruction to enhance the analytical and comprehensive research acumen necessary for professional growth and leadership. Continuing education programs create avenues for students to complete their educational objectives and develop skills necessary for their professional and personal fulfillment.

I. Leadership Development

• Support board leadership development

• Attract, develop and retain highly qualified management and leadership to carry out the mission of the University "

II. Student Development

• Provide student support programs, services and activities, consistent with the University's mission, that promote student learning and enhance student development

• Nurture the personal and academic growth of students by expanding their intellectual and personal development in social, civic and academic realms

III. Faculty Development

• Recruit and retain a cadre of outstanding faculty with 40% or more holding the appropriate doctoral or terminal degree

• Provide sufficient resources for on-campus and off-campus development

• Adjust faculty salary ranges time to time to make them competitive in the country

• Secure funds to establish endowed chairs and endowed professorships

• Restructure the area of Sponsored Programs and Research to ensure that it facilitates faculty research and craftsmanship in all areas

IV. Staff Development• Recruit and retain a cadre of outstanding staff

• Conduct a salary, benefits and positions analysis for staff time to time

• Develop and implement a staff development program for technology training and effective communication

V. Academic Program Development

• Continue to pursue national or special accreditation

• Ensure academic program quality and relevance by requiring continuous curriculum review and reform, to include annual reviews

• Integrate oral and written communication, critical thinking, technology and information literacy across the curriculum

• Offer students experiential learning opportunities, to include internships, clinical experiences, service learning or international experience

• Develop and implement a comprehensive undergraduate research program

• Diversify the campus by increasing the number of study abroad and exchange opportunities and institutional programs, such as the "Windows to the World" series

• Assess the existing academic organizational structure and study the feasibility and advantages of school structure

• Create nationally and regionally recognized research centers and institutes

• Assess current trends and create viable distance-learning programs aimed at meeting institutional and regional needs

• Implement select graduate programs

• Expand collaborations with other institutions and organizations

• Enhance the infrastructure and further build theinstitutional capacity to allow faculty and students to engage in significant research and/or scholarly and creative activity, thereby increasing studentpreparedness and invigorating the intellectual life of the University

VI. Technology Enhancement

• Develop and implement a long-range technology plan

• Strengthen and expand the information technology infrastructure

• Implement an effective administrative software system

• Implement an effective library information system

VII. Facilities Enhancement

• Develop a plan for perpetual maintenance of all campus facilities " Develop a plan for strategic land acquisition

• Develop a plan for expanded parking

• Develop a plan and secure the resources to facilitate the following projects over the next 5-10 years:

• expansion and renovation of the existing Libraries

• renovation and restoration of existing facilities

• completion of the Student Residential Center

• Creation of the Health and Physical Education/Wellness Center

• construction of the Science and Technology Center, the Academic Complex and the Comprehensive Student Life Center

• Develop and launch a capital campaign

• Enhance fundraising capabilities by exploring new strategies and sources to meet the growing needs of the University

• Successfully implement programs in major gifts and corporate and foundation relations

• Strengthen the Alumni Relations program

• Engage in ongoing, integrated and institution-wide research-based planning and evaluation processes that incorporate a systematic review of programs(a) and services; (b) result in, continuing improvement and (c) demonstrate that intuition is effectively accomplishing its mission.

• Have each student produce a student portfolio or a project documenting success of their ion at Stamford University.

• Establish a comprehensive program for the assessment t learning and envelopment, to include a fully staff and equipped University Testing Center

• Develop an institutional audit system to ensure compliance with accreditation criteria and federal and the regulations.

• Develop and implement comprehensive program with is on the success of graduates, to include job it and enrollment in graduate and professional schools.
