ExploreSpend your first day in the vibrant city of Kathmandu to find your feet before heading out. Visit Swayambhunath, colloquially known as ‘the monkey temple’ for stunning views of Kathmandu. Acclimatise slowly in the foothills before heading higher on your main trek.

The highlight of this expedition is the challenging trek in the Annapurna region at the heart of the Himalayas where you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views of some of the highest mountains in the world. All treks are supported by guides, and as you journey to the heart of the mountains, you’ll pass through beautiful villages, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture.

Challenge yourself

Our In-Country Agent for Nepal is Andrew Kumai, along with the team at Summit Nepal Trekking. You are likely to meet Andrew on one of your first few days in country for a briefing, so ask many questions as he is a fountain of knowledge!

Our Project Coordinator Jeevan works with the local communities throughout the year to place our teams based on the current needs of the community and where there contributions are most valuable. Projects are based in schools where you can learn about the children’s day-to-day life and help with general maintenance, working with a local expert mixing and laying cement, bricklaying or cleaning and painting.

Contribute Chill outFor some well-deserved rest and relaxation, teams can spend time visiting the temples of Kathmandu, exploring Durbar square with its royal palace and spectacular architecture. But if adventure’s what you’re looking for, white water raft down the Trusili River or go on jungle safari in Chitwan National Park!

In 2009, we started working with the Mother and Children’s Art Foundation (MCAF), a non-profit organisation working with women and children in education, healthcare and employment. Through MCAF, teams work at schools with children from underprivileged families, giving them hope and opportunity for the future.
