Presidents CornerHappy New Year!
Hard to believe another year has gone by…so fast! We have had afun and eventful year. Some of the major events that took placeincluded a new meeting place, losing a few old members, gainingsome new members, trying some new ideas and programs andall with the support and participation of thegreat members that make up our club.
I will continue to challenge myself, the Board and the members tocome up with new, fresh ideas and approaches to our activitiesand club functions. Look for more changes and ideas in the com-ing months. We would love to hear from you about what youwould like to do and see in 2009. So please take some time andconsider offering some new and interesting ideas and bring themup at the meetings and to the Board members.
Our search for a new charity continues. The feedback we havegotten suggests that you would like to volunteer personal time andhands-on activities that help the charity organization. We willhave a guest speaker at the January 13th meeting representing theInterfaith Community Services(http://www.interfaithservices.org). An overview of the organiza-tion and a question and answer session will be the focus of themeeting. The club will have an opportunity to discuss and consid-er this organization for our charity and vote accordingly.
Bob Stall Chevrolet will continue to sponsor and support our clubin the coming year, helping us with Plastic Fantastic and EndlessSummer.
Everyone have a great New Year and get involved with YOURclub. It is fun and rewarding.

Plastic Fantastic
Planes of Fame Run
The Air Museum was founded by Edward Maloney, who recognized the importance of preserving WWII aircraft at atime when most of these planes were being cut up into scrap metal. Although the United States alone produced over300,000 military aircraft during WWII, most of these were destroyed at the end of the war and many types disap-peared entirely. Even fewer of Germany's and Japan's aircraft were saved. In his attempts to save endangered aircrafttypes from the scrap heap, Mr. Maloney pleaded, bartered, and even purchased the discards by the pound.

It was a beautiful day for the show. Our crack registration team does a great job!
