1. Reduce the risk to NC military Installations from downsizing or closures.

2. Support in-state tuition for military affiliated students.

3. Assist NC Working Lands Group and installations with efforts to preserve land near military installations.

4. Develop economic development opportunities associated with logistics and supply chain support for military aircraft (ex: JSF) and aviation equipment.

NC General Assembly passed legislation to support tuition grants for UNC/CC’s.

Recently passed Federal legislation will require changes to NC program

Meeting Federal requirements will cost approximately double the current program to approximately $9 million annually

UNC working on getting the word out to potential military students

protection funding is out for coordination • Matrix team will assess JLUS studies as part of BRAC contract. • Requesting updates from installations on status of JLUS

• HB433 passed; HB484 passed and under review. • Coordinating on a state map with NCCC and NCEM depicting military

restrictions/requirements/airspace to assist with zoning and development. • Need State agency coordination on mapping

• Letter sent from Governor to new owner regarding the value of maintaining military training at Hoffman Forest.
