NCCP – NATIONAL COACHING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

E-SUBMISSION
CONGRATULATIONS on completing Modules 1 (Planning a Practice), 2 (Teaching & Learning Make Ethical Decisions), and 3 (Technical & Tactical Basic). You are now considered TRAINED. In order to be recognized as a Certified Coach, you must complete the following STEPS (1-7) below and have ALL documents submitted electronically to Kevin Willington, Director at Large, Badminton Canada. Follow the steps outlined in this document carefully and you will soon be recognized by Badminton
Canada and the Canadian Association of Coaching, as one of Canada’s Certified Badminton Coaching Members.
Evaluation (Trained to Certified) Step 1: Complete Lesson Plan Template
- All lesson plans are used to help stay organized, set goals, meet learning objectives and be able to evaluate criteria. All lesson plans must be created and communicated to the Learning Facilitator prior to video submission.
Step 2: Complete Emergency Action Plan
- The EAP must be completed and submitted to the Learning Facilitator prior to video submission. The EAP is necessary as it outlines multiple emergency situations in your teaching environment.
Step 3: Regional Coach Evaluation - The Regional Coach Evaluation Rubric is to be completed by the Learning
Facilitator. It is best to familiarize yourself with the rubric in order to best understand what you will be evaluated on.
Step 4: Submit Lesson Plan and EAP to a Learning Evaluator (LE) via email - Both the Lesson Plan and the EAP are to be completed and submitted prior
to recording the lesson video. Please wait for confirmation from your Learning Facilitator before recording your video.
Step 5: Confirmation from a (LE), permission to create videos - Your Learning Facilitator will provide you with feedback on your Lesson
Plan and EAP, and will either grant or deny permission to proceed with the video submission.
Step 6: Create Video/Video Submission - Each video must be submitted in accordance with the evaluation rubric as
well as the video submission procedures. Any video that is missing these items may be deemed unacceptable for submission.
Step 7: Results and Payment
- Upon confirmation from the Learning Facilitator of your video submission, please coordinate the best method of payment between you and your respective provincial organization.

SAFETY: allow for adequate time for athlete to return to start position; position feeder so they do not obstruct the view of players; maintain court so that birds are not in the path of players
• Starts from stationary position; variation: start from middle line to add movement
• Focus on returning to start position after each shot
• 3-4 rotations then modify drill to Player 1 cross drop, Player 2 straight return drop

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Secure area to reduce risk of subsequent harm to injured person; avoid moving injured person unless safe to do
so
2. Designate person to be in charge of other athletes. If no other person is available, cease activities and ensure
that athletes are in a safe area.
3. Protect yourself; do not approach area until deemed safe; put on personal protective equipment (gloves)
4. Assess ABCs (Airway, Breathing, Circulation)
a. If they are not present, CPR should be started
5. Wait by injured person until EMS arrives and injured person is transported

VIDEO CONTENT VIDEO SUBMISSION PROCEDURES
• The content of the video must contain all the elements found in the Regional Coach Evaluation Rubric
• A 10 min. debrief including: - what went well? - what changed? - challenges? - what would you do differently? Why?
• 1 of the following 3 skills must be taught - serve, clear, or drop
• Audio Check – must be able to capture everything the coach says – explanations, learning cues, feedback, etc.
• Video Check - static (stationary) or moving camera – whatever captures the lesson the best.

• E-Submission - Upload using YouTube, Dropbox, etc.

RESULTS AND PAYMENT
Upon completion of your video submission to your learning facilitator, please coordinate with them the best method of payment to your respective provincial badminton association. Results of your evaluation and observation will be communicated to you within the next few weeks.
