5 Themes of Geography

• 1. Location- tells where a place actually iso Example: the country of Israel is on the

southeast of the Mediterranean sea

• 2. Region- countries that have features in commono Features that can make up a region:

climate, landforms, vegetation, animal life…etc.

o Example of a region: Egypt and Libya. They share a common climate of desert

• 3. Place- an area’s unique characteristics. What is it like there?

• 4. Movement- study of the migrations of people and animals.

• Migrate- moving from one place to another

• Immigrate- a person who moves to a country to live permanently.
