Towering limestone cli�s, caves and glacial potholes are a few of the natural wonders
found at Rockwood Conservation Area. You can
view them from hiking trails on both sides of the
Eramosa River, or in a rented canoe.
The park has over 65,000 visitors a year from near
and far and o�ers excellent recreational
opportunities only a short distance from major
metropolitan areas.

Rockwood is open between May and October from 8 a.m. until sunset, or camp with us overnight. You can also check the website or call the park for a new winter operating schedule. About the park
We o�erplenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors.
Camping
Whether camping by tent or by
trailer, Rockwood is sure to be a
favourite spot for your family’ s
camping vacation. Up to six people
are permitted per campsite. Check-in
is after 2 p.m. and check-out is before
noon.
Canoeing / Kayaking
Canoeing is one of the most popular
activities at the park. Paddle the calm
waters of the Eramosa River and
explore the geological wonders.
Canoes and kayaks can be rented at
the beach boat house.
Swimming
Hit the beach on those hot, hazy summer days. Our
clean, sandy beach is a welcoming sight to those
looking to swim, picnic or simply relax in the sun.
There are no lifeguards, so parents and guardians
must keep a close watch on children at all times. A
lifejacket loaner program is available. Inquire at the
gatehouse. Water is tested weekly in the summer.
Hiking
The two main trails provide plenty of breathtaking
scenery including the river's edge, mixed forest and
unique geologic features. The trails can be accessed
from the beach or the mill ruins. The terrain in the
park consists of high cli�s and steep slopes –
exercise caution. For your
safety, and the health of this
unique environment, please
stay on the trails.
AlcoholAlcohol is permitted on registered campsites, except for a total alcohol ban on the Victoria Day and Labour Day long weekends. No alcohol is permitted in the day-use areas.

WeatherBe aware of your surroundings and monitor the latest conditions for active weather. Seek appropriate shelter during severe weather during the day or night.
Quiet Hours11 p.m .to 7 a.m. No excessive noise at any time.
PetsPets must be kept on a leash at all times and cannot be left unattended. No pets are permitted on the beach or in the swimming area.
We welcome group events such as family reunions and corporate picnics.
