Register online from 30 March

Student ProgramsEnrolment numbers are limited and will be processed in order of receipt. All applicants must be members of their local Suzuki Association.

Junior Program 26–28 SeptemberBook 1 Students – Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Flute & Guitar

A shorter daily program for junior students, which will consist of a tutorial, enrichment class and play-in for string/flute students. Please see timetable on page four for more details.

Standard Program26 –28 September

Violin Book 2 – 8 Viola Book 2 and above

Cello Book 2 – 4 Piano Book 2 and above

Flute Book 2 – 7 Guitar Book 2 and above

All students participating in the Standard Program will work in small group tutorials focusing on developing key points such as tone production, musical expression, technique and posture.

Students will also have the opportunity to experience a range of level appropriate classes including string ensembles (Book 2 & above), play-ins, ensemble skills (piano), tone & technique classes, repertoire classes and musical enrichment.

Senior Violin Program25 –28 SeptemberViolin students studying Book 9 and above will participate in Senior Tutorials on Friday, 25 September in addition to the Standard Program (26–28 September, see above). Senior violin students will work intensively on a selected work throughout the National Conference with Brian Lewis. Music will be distributed from 24 July 2015.

Senior Cello Program25 –28 SeptemberCello students studying Book 5 and above will participate in a cello ensemble on Friday 25 September, and throughout the conference, with Amy Sue Barston. In addition, students studying Book 7 and above will work on an additional repertoire piece throughout the conference with Amy Sue Barston. The music for both these sessions will be distributed by 24 July 2015.

Senior Flute Program25 –28 SeptemberFlute students studying Book 8 and above will participate in a senior tutorial on Faure Fantasie with Toshio Takahashi in addition to the Standard Program (26-28 September).

Suzuki Early Childhood Music Program (SECM)26 –28 September(limited places available)

The Suzuki Early Childhood Music Program (SECM) caters for two age groups: children aged 0 – 2 and 3 – 5 years. Suzuki Early Childhood Classes are small, fun, interactive group musical activity classes based on the Suzuki Philosophy.

The Suzuki Early Childhood Music Program will consist of one 45 minute SECM class each day. All SECM students are welcome to observe all instrumental classes and concerts during the National Conference.

Baby & Toddler Program (0 – 2 years)

A range of musical and social concepts are featured in this Suzuki program. Songs, spoken speech patterns and movement are combined with the playing of a variety of percussion instruments. Each activity is presented so that babies and toddlers of all developmental stages can benefit. For the benefit of your child, please ensure that each child has one carer present to participate in class.

Preschool Program (3 – 5 years)

This Suzuki program explores more complex musical skills, independence and creativity. Some goals of the musical activities in this program include fostering language, listening, imagination, greater social awareness and the discovery of the singing voice. For the benefit of your child please ensure that each child has one carer present to participate in class.

ConcertsRecital by Brian Lewis (26 September) A rare opportunity to hear an exceptionally dedicated and gifted performer whose passionate artistry has been heard and embraced around the world. Bookings will open 1 August 2015.

The Gala Concert (27 September) showcasing exciting student performances in a more formal atmosphere. Inspirational for students of all ages and levels. Please see Gala Concert Auditions if you wish to audition for the Gala Concert.

The Closing Concert (28 September) is an opportunity to celebrate & reflect on the achievements of students over National Conference.

Individual LessonsViolin, Cello, Piano, Flute & GuitarThere will be a limited number of Individual Lessons available with our visiting International Tutors. All students registered for National Conference are eligible to apply for an Individual Lesson. There is a limit of one Individual Lesson per student.

Individual Lesson ScheduleDetails of how to book these lessons will only be available to those who indicate their expression of interest on the enrolment form.

The schedule of available lessons will be available at suzukimusic.com.au in August 2015. Also a notification email will be sent to indicate the release date for individual lesson bookings.

Individual Lesson Fees $60 for 20 mins (Book 1 students)

$80 for 30 mins (Books 2+ students)

No refund will be considered for missed or cancelled lessons once payment has been received.

Gala Concert AuditionsAuditions for the Gala Concert will be open to students enrolled in the Senior Program. Students may only audition for the instrument they are enrolled in, and only the piece auditioned will be considered for performance in the Gala Concert. Notification of audition results will be via email. Notification date by 27 July 2015.

Successful applicants will be allocated one rehearsal with an accompanist, as well as a brief sound check in the concert venue. Confirmation of accompanist will be sent with notification letter. Any extra rehearsals required will be at the expense of the student.

Submitting an Audition for Gala ConcertAll audition submissions are due on 30 June 2015. No auditions will be accepted after this date. Late, incomplete or incorrect YouTube links will not be considered and fees will not be refunded.

To audition please select the Gala Concert Audition box on the online enrolment form. You will receive an email with instructions on how to submit your recording immediately after you have registered. (YouTube link only).

Only memorised performances will be considered. All YouTube links must be received by 30 June 2015.

Parent LecturesA series of free lectures designed to support parents in their understanding and application of Dr Suzuki’s Philosophy.

Professional DevelopmentProfessional Development courses are available for Violin, Cello, Piano, Guitar and Flute.

RegistrationsEligibility of EnrolmentTo participate in National Conference, you must be a current member of your local Suzuki Association.

Enrolment Procedure• Please complete your National Conference enrolment online at

suzukimusic.com.au from Monday, 30 March 2015.

• You will receive an email confirmation of your registration and receipt for payment immediately (if enrolled by 30 June 2015).

• Gala Concert Audition applicants will be notified of their result by 27 July 2015.

An information pack will be sent by 24 August 2015.

Multiple Instrument Applications We are unable to accept multiple instrument applications.

Child SupervisionA parent or carer must be in attendance at National Conference at all times. No responsibility will be taken by the Suzuki Talent Education Association of Australia (NSW) Ltd (STEAA (NSW) Ltd) for children or students left unattended.

CancellationsAll cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received by 15 August 2015 will be refunded less a $70 Cancellation Fee. No refunds will be made after this date.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. All programs are subject to change without notice.

2. Guest Faculty listings correct at time of publishing. We are unable accept responsibility for any changes made to the Guest Faculty prior to National Conference.

3. Late Fees apply to applications received after 30 June 2015.

4. All applicants must be current members of their local Suzuki Association.

5. The STEAA (NSW) Ltd is a training organisation responsible for the continued professional development of our teachers. This means that we often film, photograph or record STEAA (NSW) Ltd activities both for our own records and for training of our teachers. We also feature photographs of our events for all to share in our quarterly magazine, Tempo. By joining the STEAA (NSW) Ltd you are deemed to have given permission for photographic, audio or video footage of your child(ren) to be taken at our events for use in the manner described above. Dr Suzuki’s message to us was ensure that our children are “Nurtured by Love”. All our events are held within that framework and any recording is done to share and support this message.
