ABOUT NASA FIRST The NASA FIRST program aims to develop a community of prospective future leaders who will have a full understanding of the Agency's vision and mission areas. It is designed to provide employees in science, engineering, and the administrative

professional field with foundational leadership skills. NASA FIRST is customized to inspire, motivate and enlighten NASA's next generation of Agency leaders.

Target Audience: This program targets GS-ll and GS-12 civil servants with at least one year of experience with NASA, term or permanent employees.

Application Process: All documents, information and forms are available on the NASA FIRST website as follows: (http://leadership.nasa.gov/nasafirst/home.htm).

• Please review the NASA FIRST program information thoroughly and plan to attend a Headquarters Information Briefing session before completing and submitting your application.

ABOUT THE NASA MID-LEVEL LEADER PROGRAM (MLLP) The NASA Mid-Level Leader Program (MLLP) provides significant leadership development for a diverse, Agency-wide group of individuals in engineering, science and administrative professionals who have high potential for assuming greater leadership responsibilities in formal management or program/project management roles. This sixteen (16) month development program is focused on cohort building, collaboration and leading across traditional boundaries.

Target Audience: This program targets GS-13 through GS-IS Civil Servants with at least two years of NASA service and some experience with Agency or Center leadership development. *NOTE: GS-lSs are permitted to participate this coming year.

Application Process: All documents, information and application forms are available on the MLLP website as follows: (http://leadership.nasa.gov/DevelopmentiMidLeveILeaderlMidLeveILeader.htm).

• Please review the MLLP information thoroughly and plan to attend a Headquarters Information Briefing session before completing and submitting your application.

These leadership programs include the following elements:

• Core learning sessions, a career-broadening rotation, mentoring sessions with respected NASA leaders, professional coaching sessions, and other Individual Development Plan (lOP) identified learning activities;

• Competency building in self-awareness and personal effectiveness in critical NASA leadership skill areas, including communication, trust building, influence, diversity and inclusion, decision-making and leading/managing change.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR NASA HEADOUARTERS CIVIL SERVANTS: The application deadline for the FIRST and MLLP is Friday, September 13,2013. Applications will not be accepted or processed after this due date. Please send all nomination packages to:
