An animal care activity section for children

The goal of PETPOURRI is to promote responsible pet ownership.

PETPOURRI helps:

· To teach children that pets need food, water, shelter and exercise

· To teach children that pets are dependent on people for their existence

· To teach students that pets need love

· To teach students the basic techniques in handling pets

· To promote veterinary medicine

LET’S MAKE AN ANIMAL MASK

You can be a tiger, an owl, or a goat.

1.Open a large paper bag and cut

out holes for your eyes.

2. Trace the heel

of your shoe on

another place of

paper to make ears.

Cut these out and

glue them to the

bag.

3. Cut out goat horns, an owl beak, or

tiger whiskers from colored paper.

Glue these on.

4. Now color your mask and put on a

show for your family. :)

FUNNY ANIMAL PUPPETS

1. Fold your paper into 3 equal sections. Put section 1 on 2 and section 3 on top.

2. Fold in half to make a tent.

You’ll need: One 81/2” x 11” sheet of paper, crayons, glue, and yarn.

3. Fold the tent into a W.

4. Make a face on your puppet. 5. Put your hand in the folds.
