Page 89: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

Modular Park is a simple modular system to multiply the number of car

spaces in an existing car park or anywhere else. It can be placed on a level or more. The system consists of hot galvanized or painted steel modules, which can be putted together in a variety of combinations, creating structures of different shapes and sizes to make the best use of available. The modules are easy to assemble and dismantle and are suitable for temporary solutions. It can be made with concrete flooring or can be made with steel grate flooring. In fact in case of grate flooring, for some local norms, can be considered as construction with “restricted cubature”.

In case of concrete flooring, the reinforced concrete is made with cement,

water, top quality aggregates and conforms to the dosage and grade of the Fuller diagrams. In all cases, the reinforced concrete used for structural support has a resistance of at least Rck = 350 Kg/cm2 (kilograms on square centimetre) after 28 days hardening. The reinforcement used in the cement is electrowelded and/or single pieces of wire-netting which, in all cases, have either “improved adherence” and/or bent into a hook. The iron used for the reinforcement has a permitted stress of no less than 1,600 Kg/cm2. If cast in the winter the cement will have antifreeze additives mixed with it and, if needed, other additives to improve quality.

It is designed for outdoors meaning it can withstand weather conditions such as water, ice, wind, etc. For this reason the metal structure is completely hot dip galvanized and the various structural elements are connected together with galvanized bolts.

The hot dip galvanizing process is done according to current European norms so that each single element is coated with 100-120 micron thick protective layer depending on the thickness of the element to be galvanized.

1

Page 90: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

More specifically, hot dip galvanizing is done according to the EN10142,

EN10143 and EN 10147 standards for thin sections and sheet metal and to the UNI EN ISO 1461 standards for thicker sections, like the beams.

The various metal elements consist of material, classified according to the UNI 7070 standards, of the types Fe360, Fe430 and Fe510 depending on the structural/mechanical characteristics the element is subject to.

The system can be erected anywhere and, if needed, can be dismantled completely, transported elsewhere and erected again, also with a different layout as it is made with interchangeable modules connected together.

When erecting or dismantling, each element is easy to handle with the construction site crane. These characteristics guarantee maximum flexibility of the system which adapts to any surface-height situation if used again. Because it is so easy and quick to erect, dismantle and erect again, our modular car park system has obtained a TWO KIND OF EUROPEAN PATENT FOR A DEMOUNTABLE CAR PARK WITH AT LEAST ONE FLOOR BESIDES THE GROUND FLOOR.

Each standard module is square and measures 5x5 metres. We may do, however, other modules in our range as big as 7x7 m for particular situations.

Each module is sustained by 4 square tubular metal posts and by primary and secondary beams to support the upper car park floor. Usually the beams are IPE section or similar of a suitable size and bolted together on the construction site.

The feet standing on the ground consist of a plate that distributes stress to the ground and they also have a particular joint so they can follow the slant of the ground.

Feet are anchored to the ground with bolts.

Each foot is, of course, rigid enough to withstand any bumps and knocks from vehicles moving at walking speed.

Page 91: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

Unlike other manufacturers, our posts have a jointed shockproof protection

that protects three sides of it if it is accidentally bumped into by a vehicle. For additional safety when parking, a tubular ring has been added to the base of the foot which protects tyres in the case of wrong manoeuvres (see enclosed photos).

The upper drive-over floor consists of composite ribbed steel sheet, mod. EGB 1200 (ribbed panels for floors made by the company Brollo Marcegaglia or similar) placed on the underlying IPE or ILS beams that support the reinforced concrete.

The reinforced concrete is divided into several parts so that all floors measure about 5x2.5 metres which means they can be taken down, transported and re-assembled elsewhere. The floor is made in RCK30 S4 concrete or similar, about 15 cm thick and duly reinforced with natural coloured Quartz-cement laid at the rate of 3-4 kg/m2, smoothed mechanically and joints by cutting filled with a PVC sheath.

The surface will be treated with transparent epoxy resin in an aqueous emulsion, with two coats being given to make the surface non-slip and waterproof. With this treatment the floor will be resistant to oils and hydrocarbons.

If requested by customer, the upper car park floor will be surfaced with wear proof asphalt, approximately 3 cm thick.

Besides the vertical and horizontal structures there will also be a sufficient number of slanting and vertical cross bracing elements plus steel rafters wherever necessary. These elements, consisting of metal plates with tie rods, are fundamental for the horizontal stability of the structure.

The upper floor of the car park will slant slightly and channels installed to collect rain water. These channels will convey the water to drainpipes inside the posts.

Page 92: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

The car park area will be fitted with regular perimeter guard rails, conforming to European Norms, proper road signs and stripes delimiting the parking and transit areas.

The delimiting stripes will be of the same colour, width and the same paint used normally on ordinary roads; the horizontal driving signs on the upper floor and on the street level, will be conformed to the new European road code and relevant regulations.

Both safety and fire signs will follow the standards European Norms. The access ramp is made with modules with the same mechanical and

structural properties described above with the only fundamental difference that the transit surface supplied is the “fish-bone” type to increase friction of the car tyres driving over it, with concrete type RCK 25 s3 15 cm thick and 1 cm thick Durocret and shaped surface plus flat channels along the sides so that water can flow along easily.

DETAIL OF HOW THE WATER FLOWS

As you can see clearly from the detail of the water flow, our system opts for a double drainage channel, called “subchannel” which guarantees, together with the water collection channel, effective waterproofing of the upper floor with the lower one, so absolutely no water can filter from one floor to the other. APPROXIMATE WEIGHTS

You have to consider that post height varies because the car park must have a slanting surface for the rainwater to drain away.

This means that the weight of the feet and tensioning devices vary from module to module.

Parking Systems - Modular Park - Steel Constructions – Dumper Containers Carpenterie Mussini srl - Via G. di Vittorio, 18 - 42124 Reggio Emilia– ITALY - P. Iva 02398420352 tel. +39 0522 271088 Fax +39 0522 513075 - e-mail: [email protected] - www.carpenteriemussini.it

5

Page 94: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

Also consider that the cement has to slant towards the water collection

channels and so it will differ in thickness and, hence, weights are only approximate. Approximate weights of the car park’s structural elements: Post 90 Kg/pc. Ground plate 50 kg/pc. Upper plate 45 Kg/pc Main beams 150 kg/each Secondary beams 130 Kg/each Car park surface (corrugated steel + concrete + reinforcement) 180 kg/sq.m. Tensioning devices (Tie plates + bolted tensioning device) 45 Kg/each Water channel (5 metres) 65 Kg/each Drainpipe 5 kg/each Guard-Rail 2n weight conforming to European standards approx. 25-30 Kg/m Various elements for anchoring and supporting the side panels (ornamental panels to give esthetic and architectonic prestige to the car park) 25 Kg/m Staircase for users 1500/1800 kg/each floor So each 5 x 5 metre module has a quantity of 1,550 – 1,600 Kg of metal elements, reaching a total weight, including the cement laid to support the structure, of approximately 6,000-6,100 Kg. The ramp is made up of more or less 3 modules. FITTING IN WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

Our car park system comes with cladding panels to cover the main perimeter beams, guard rails and part of the ramps in order to minimise the global, environmental impact of the metal structure.

These panels – according to our standard – consist of insulated monolithic sandwich panels with a galvanized steel cladding and prevarnished, 30 mm thick and available in different colours, to the customer’s preference (RAL white 9010, RAL grey white 9018, RAL cream 1013, RAL red 3039, RAL dark brown 8019, RAL blue 5012 and other colours on request).

Parking Systems - Modular Park - Steel Constructions – Dumper Containers Carpenterie Mussini srl - Via G. di Vittorio, 18 - 42124 Reggio Emilia– ITALY - P. Iva 02398420352 tel. +39 0522 271088 Fax +39 0522 513075 - e-mail: [email protected] - www.carpenteriemussini.it

6

Page 95: MUSSINI MODULAR PARK

Also on request, we can supply 40 mm thick cement slabs in numerous colour combinations and chessboard style panels are also a possibility. Flower boxes could be put on top. It is possible also to choose net panels or glass panels.

As confirmed also by all car parks installed in many cities, our modular car park system, subject to an acoustic inspection, showed that cars transiting on the drive-over floor produce absolutely no sound pollution, unlike on ordinary roads. STRUCTURAL SYSTEM The structure has been designed so that if some welding points or bolts on the main elements fail due to a manufacturing or erection defect, the overall static balance of the structure is not effected in any way.

In actual fact, each primary bearing element is installed on top of the element that has to sustain it; as a consequence, any defects in bolting or welding can in no way be cause of collapse but could, at most, give rise to oscillations or vibrations. STATICALLY SECURE STRUCTURE

• Паркингът да работи с коли на абонамент и временно приходящи, като абонаментът може да се задава по време, а цената да се променя;

• Възможно е да не се изисква заплащане за определен период от време. Времето за престой на коли, за които не се изисква заплащане, може да се задава от компютъра, а цените за престоя над допустимото минимално време могат да се променят и задават от програмата;

• През входната бариера не може да влезе кола при условие, че паркингът е запълнен с максималния брой коли, които той може да поеме. Броят на паркиралите коли, които може да побере паркинга, се задава от програмата;

• Гъвкав подход при инженеринга и софтуерното решение за всеки паркинг спрямо конкретните изисквания;

Ing. Dorina Dobreva SEA Bulgaria 1331 Sofia blvd Evropa 176 BULGARIA

 At the kind attention of

Dorina Dobreva

Re: Your request about Modular Park  parking systems for 2 levels  (designed for 2 more future levels).

Dear Dorina,     here is our offer:  Parking System mod. Modular Park  made by a connection of modular pieces of dimensions mt 5x5,  meters or similar, with 1 double ramps, total parking dimentions mt 32x75 (or 33x75),  as follow:  General description

The various metal elements consist of material, classified according to the UNI 7070 standards, of  the  types  Fe360,  Fe430  and  Fe510  depending  on  the  structural/mechanical  characteristics  the element is subject to.

The floor is made in RCK30 S4 concrete or similar about 15 cm thick. Over it, it is possible to lay down a 2‐3cm thick asphalt base.

The  reinforced  concrete  is  divided  into  several  parts  so  that  all  floors measure  about  5x2.5 metres which means they can be taken down, transported and re‐assembled elsewhere.

The system can be erected anywhere and, if needed, can be dismantled completely, transported elsewhere and erected again, also with a different  layout as  it  is made with  interchangeable modules connected together.

When erecting or dismantling, each element is easy to handle with a construction site crane.  These characteristics guarantee maximum flexibility of the system which adapts to any surface‐

height situation if used again. Because it is so easy and quick to erect, dismantle and erect again, our modular car park system

has obtained a PATENT. Each module is sustained by 4 square tubular metal posts and by primary and secondary beams

to support the upper car park floor.  The  beams  chosen  are  IPE  beams  or  similar  of  a  suitable  size  and  bolted  together  on  the

construction site.  The feet standing on the ground consist of a plate that distributes stress to the ground and they

also have a particular joint so they can follow the slant of the ground.  The feet are anchored to the ground with bolts. Each foot is, of course, rigid enough to withstand any bumps and knocks from vehicles moving at walking speed.

The posts have a jointed shockproof protection that protects it if it is accidentally bumped into by a vehicle. For additional safety when parking, a tubular ring has been added to the base of the foot which protects tyres in the case of wrong manoeuvres.

The surface can be treated with transparent epoxy resin in an aqueous emulsion, with two coats being given to make the surface non‐slip and waterproof. With this treatment the floor will be resistant to oils and hydrocarbons.

The upper  floor of  the car park will slant slightly and channels  installed  to collect  rain water; these channels will convey the water to drainpipes inside the posts.

The car park area will be fitted with regular perimeter guard rails, conforming to the European norms, proper road signs and stripes delimiting the parking and transit areas.

The  access  ramp  is made with modules with  the  same mechanical  and  structural  properties described above with  the only  fundamental difference being  that  the  transit  surface  supplied  is  the “fish‐bone” type to increase friction of the car tyres driving over it, with concrete type RCK 25 s3 15 cm thick with 1 cm thick Durocret and shaped surface plus flat channels along the sides so water can flow along easily.  General features

o Max capacity each car space 3000 kg. o Structure in according with the sismic norms of the installation country o Supporting structure in hot galvanized steel o Guard Rail in according to the European norms o Single module dimention: as drawing. o Clearance :  from 2,4 till 3,0 meters o Surface dimension: as your drawing. o Electric components for lighting in according to the European norms o Fire Prevention components

Description

[0001] The presentinvention relates to a demountable and remountable modular parking lot for motor vehicles, composed of at least one upper storey in addition to the ground floor. [0002] various types of structures for modular parking lots are known to the expert of the art, which enable the number of vehicles parkable on a determined area to be doubled. Many of these structures are of fixed type, either of steel or of reinforced concrete, however more recently some have been of demountable and remountable construction. [0003] EP 0 364 414 81 describes a structure of this latter type, suitable for constructing temporary parking lots consisting of a ~rst transit and parking floor, acces

throughoutthe entire vertical support element. Hence the benefit of vertical support elements subjected only to axialload is not in the end substantial, especially considering that the work required to form a vertical support

s element oft he aforedescribed type is decidedly demanding and costly. (0007] The junction element of the modular structural unit represented in the figures of EP 0 364 414 81 comprises: a first tubular part insertable coaxially a certain

10 distance into the free upper end of the upper tubular part of the relative vertical support element, and externally presenting angularly equidistant plates for connection to said bracing rods; a horizontal plate for supporting said edge beams fixed to the outer end ofthe first tubular part;

[0004] Structure bracing rods are also provided, the [0009] Demountable modular parking lots in accord-ends of which are connected to said junction elements 30 ance with the teachings of EP 1 165 909 81 and EP 0 and bases. 364 414 81 effectively exist. The bases each comprise a baseplate 35 beams (so that in this version, the structural unit uses from which there upwardly extends a coaxial cylindrical five beams). This enables the floor slab span to be sig-collar rigidly fixed to the baseplate. A first hinge element, nificantly reduced. in the form of a spherical cap, rests on the baseplate [0010] From the a foregoing it is evident that the afore-within the cylindrical collar, with its convex side facing described modular structural unit is fairly complicated, in upwards. The vertical support element comprises an ex- 40 that some of its structural elements (in particularly the ternally threaded lower cylindrical pin of diameter less vertical support elements and the bases) are more similar than the inner diameter of said cylindrical collar, in order to pieces of machinery than to the structural steelwork to be inserted fairly loosely into this latter. carry a single floor slab or several side by side floor slabs, the floor slab or floor slabs being formed using sheet steel; four junction elements, also of steel, on which the deck rests at its four corners; four steel vertical support elements, at the top of which a junction element is provided; and four steel bases, each base comprising a baseplate from which a tubular collar extends coaxially upwards to receive fairly loosely the lower end of the relative vertical support element;

[0020) As can be seen from Figures 1 and 2, the mod· ular structural unit shown therein, indicated overall by 10, comprises a deck consisting essentially of a floor slab 16 and two parallel steel edge beams 12, which in this spe· cific case are of I cross-section (their cross-section can however be of different shape). The floor slab 16 is formed in this specific case from ribbed sheet steel, co· operating with an overlying reinforced concrete casting (not shown in the figunss for simplicity). The sheet steel could however be non-ribbed (i.e. smooth), and not be provided with a cooperating layer, in the sense that it could have merely an upper covering or hood, not coop· erating with a sheet steel, to form the treading/transit sur· face (hence without using cooperating reinforced con· creta). (0021] In the variant shown in Figures 3, 4 and 5, the modular structural unit 1 ONL and 1 OL has a deck provided with two additional secondary steel beams 14, of I crosssection. These latter are spaced apart by a distance equal to one half their distance from the adjacent vertical sup· port elements indicated by 18. Two typical floor slabs (identical, of span L), indicated overall by the reference numerals 16A and 168, rest on the secondary beams 14. The typical floor slabs 16A and 168 can be of the various types described above with reference to the floor slab 16 of Figures 1 and 2, and in particular can comprise a ribbed steel sheet cooperating with an overlying rein· forced concrete casting. (0022] 1t should be noted that the fioor slab 168 rests at one end on one of the two secondary beams 14 of the structural unit 10NL, while its other end rests on the near· er secondary beam of an adjacent modular unit (having two vertical support elements In common with the first). As stated, the modular structural unit 10NL of Figures 3 and 4 is of "non-lateral" type, normally used to form most of the parking lot, whereas the structural units which form two of the parallel edges of this latter (i.e. the "lateral" structural units, of which one is shown in Figure 5 and

2o relative nuts 24 and locking nuts 26 is that which has been previously called the junction element, and is indi· cated overall by 30. As can be seen from Figures 11-14, the first plate 28 is stiffened by lower angle plates 32 welded to it and to the tubular column 18, in this specific

25 case of square cross-section. As the plates 20 and 28 of the junction elements 30 present a central circular hole (indicated by 37 and 35 respectively), a relative downpipe 34 (Figures 14 and 16) can be conveniently passed through the tubular columns 18, to then emerge from the

so column 18 at a suitable height as not to interfere with the base 36 and relative accessories (described hereinafter). The base 36 is best seen in Figures 6·8 and comprises a baseplate 38 on which a collar 40 is centrally welded, formed from a piece of square tube, which enables the

35 lower end of the relative vertical support element 18 to be received fairly slackly (Figure 14 ), such that said lower end rests simply and directly on the baseplate 38. Angle plates 42 welded to the baseplate 38 and to the collar 40 make the assembly rigid. Suitable holes can be provided

40 in the angle plates 42 and 32 for connecting bracing elements to them, in particular the rods 44 of Figures 1·4. The baseplate 38 presents four through holes 48 for fixing to the ground by anchoring bolts. In the case of a parking lot with more than one upper storey, the holes 48 can be

4!; used to anchor the base 36 of one storey to the underlying storey, by using the threaded bars 22 of the underlying junction element 30. [0024) By loosely inserting the lower end of a column 18 directly into the collar 40, there is no need to provide

50 a perfectly horizontal support surface for the baseplate 38. In this respect, even an inclination (obviously not excessive) of said support surface still enables the columns 18 to be maintained vertical (by virtue of the said loose engagement). The factthatthis situation may lead to only

55 partial and eccentric support of the lower end of the col· umn 18 on the baseplate 38 does not cause problems, seeing that (as already stated) the columns 18 are ap. propriately dimensioned for combined compressive and

bending stress. (0025] As can be seen from Figures 6-8, the base 36

Specifically, Figure 14 shows in cross-section a main channel 56 if the floor slabs 161ie on both its sides, whereas Figure 16 shows a main channel 56L if the relative main beam 12 is the most outer edge beam. The chan-

is provided with an annular element 46 lying in a plane parallel to the baseplate 38 and welded to the angle plates 42, and against which a vehicle's wheels collide before they laterally strike the column 18. This can happen during parking, hence the annular element 46 serves to prevent Impact against the columns 18. As can be seen from Figures 9 and 10, the base 36 can be provided with a protection means 50 for the columns 18 which, notwithstanding the presence of the annular element 46, may be struck (for example frontwards or rearwards) by vehides. The protection means 50 has a roughly C shaped cross-section (Figure 9), to substantially surround one half of the perimeter of the bottom of a column 18, and is fixable to the base 36 by a single bolt. being

s nels are closed upperly by conventional grilles 62. [0029] The same figure shows how a parapet 65 similar to that of which a portion is shown in Figures 1-5 can be fixed to the edge beam 12. [0030] Figure 15, in addition to showing how the joint

10 can be made between a secondary beam 14 and a main beam 12, also shows how an expansion joint can be obtained between two floor slabs 16A and 16B in the position in which otherwise there would be a secondary channel 54, the joint gap being filled lowerlywith a polystyrene

15 layer 58 and upperly with an impermeable material 60.

angle plates 42. The advantage of this arrangement is that if the danger of impact exists on only one side (as in 20 1. the case of the edge columns), the protection means 50

A demountable and remountable modular parking lot for motor vehicles, composed of at least one upper storey in addition to the ground floor and comprising, in addition to one or more access ramps to the upper storeys, a determined number of modular structural units (10; 10NL, 10L) and adequate bracing elements (43, 44), each modular structural unit (10; 10NL, 10L)comprising: a square orrectangulardeck including steel beams (12, 14, 14L) which carry a single floor slab (16) or several side by side floor slabs (16A, 16B, 16L), the floor slab (16) or floor slabs (16A, 168, 16L) being formed using sheet steel; four junction elements (30), also of steel, on which the deck rests at its four corners: four steel vertical support elements (18) at the top of which a junction element (30) is provided; and four steel bases (36), each base (36) comprising a baseplate (38) from which a tubular collar (40) extends coaxially upwards to receive fairly loosely the lower end of the relative vertical support element (18); characterised in that:

is provided only on the side concerned (as in Figures 9 and 10), whereas if the column 18 can be struck on both sides these sides are protected by two equal protection means disposed symmetrically. lt will be noted that the 25

base shown In Figures 9 and 10 is otherwise identical to that of Figures 6-8. [0026] As already stated, the height of the column 18 can be varied, within certain limits, by simply interposing a spacer element (not shown for simplicity) between the 30

baseplate 38 and the lower end of a relative column 18, so that by providing a spacer element of suitable thickness the distance between the base 36 and the second plate 20 can be varied (within determined limits). lt should also be noted that this distance can be more finely ad- 35

justed by the threaded bars 22 and relative nuts 24 and locking nuts 26 of the junction elements 30. The columns 18 can have cross-sections other than square (for exam-ple rectangular, polygonal or H shape). [0027] lt should also be noted that the last storey (if 40

there is only one upper storey, this will be the last) of the parking lot of the present invention can be covered by conventional covering (for example a simple roof), which would be lighter than the floor of the parking lot as it has only to support weather-induced loads. However there 45

is nothing to prevent the covering from being obtained by utilizing an additional floor obtained by using the mod-ular structural units of the parking lot of the present invention. [0028] Figures 14 and 15 shOw howthefloorslabs 16A so and 168 are formed in this specific case with ribbed sheet steel completed with an upper reinforced concrete cast-ing to obtain a treading/transit/drivable floor. If there is
