These programs represent much of what makes the CSO of great value to our community . Vitally innovative and dynamic educational programming brings higher profile to the organization and fundamentally underscores the importance of patrons’ philanthropic giving to the CSO .

Thank you for your support of the CSO and all of its programming . If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at cbeeson@coloradosymphony .org or 303-534-0732 .

Thank you,

The CSO performs educational concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall, hosting more than 20,000 3rd-8th grade students annually . These programs saw an increase of nearly 30% in attendance from traditionally underserved areas of Northeast Denver, Original Aurora, and Adams County . We plan to increase attendance to a minimum goal of 25,000 . n

Sensory Friendly Programs are specially designed for people of all ages whose disability includes atypical audience behaviors that might cause them to feel uncomfortable at concerts . This program is currently being offered in the Petite Musique and Once Upon A Time formats . We look forward to performing one or more specially designed full orchestra concerts annually at Boettcher . n

This highly flexible program provides support for music students of any grade . At the request of the teacher Colorado Symphony Musician Teaching Artists can lead: instrument demonstrations, listening/singing/movement workshops, coaching for band/orchestra students, advice for students interested in pursuing a career in the musical performing arts, workshops for general music students that support specific units of study such as music of the Renaissance, composition/improvisation, or another specific request that a music teacher may have . n

Very Young Composers allows 3rd-5th grade students the opportunity to work with CSO Teaching Artists to create original music compositions which will be performed at their school and at Boettcher . Students write a story, segment it into events, and compose music to express the events, setting, and characters . Teaching Artists act only as scribes, faithfully notating each of the students’ ideas . n
