Why have you chosen this magazine?

I chose this magazine because it is simple but effective. It simplistic form shows that this

magazine is more about the music than gossip and celebs. The cover always tells you what is in

the magazine and what artist are involved. It makes it easy for the reader to find what they

want.

What do you like best/least about the

magazine?Like: • Use of artists in the key image makes you want to

read it. • Using the NME logo, it is easily seen and easily

recognisable.• Uses different artists weekly, make it always new

and exciting.

Dislike: • Doesn’t use many cover lines, more cover lines

would draw reader in even more. • Sometimes artists are used more frequently than

others.

I have chosen this magazine because I think it is an effective magazine, as it is stylish and also all about the music. It uses many

different artists on the cover for all different types of music genres. The key images are

always catchy and the key logo of a white Q in a red box makes the brand easily

recognisable.

I have chosen this magazine because it is very different to the other magazines I have looked at. It has a completely different genre to magazines such as Q and NME. Kerrang! Magazine is devoted to rock music, and this is the only genre seen within the magazine whereas with magazines like Q and NME they have a much wider genres of music.

Dislike: •The magazine is quite expensive, however this regularly includes cover mounted CD.•To much on the front cover can sometimes look messy and unorgnasied.

I have chosen top of the pops magazine because it has a completely different target audience to most other music magazine. The target audience is younger girls, and this magazine fits in well with the target audience with it’s fonts and colours.
