AbstractionMusic of the 20th centuryIntroductionIn this history of music and arts, every period has its own characteristic style which is associated with the society from which it originated. The period of the 19th and 20th century perceived the two world wars, and had been a period of many changes:

advancement in technology, a period of many inventions such as the telephone, television, electronic light, computers, cassette tapes, synthesizers, CD players, and many others. Because of this inventions, experimentations were made in the field of music and arts.

Application

WHAT TO DO• Divide the class into three groups:

1st group- actors and actresses2nd group- the dancers3rd group- the painters

• Assign a specific 20th century composition that they learned.

• The chosen composition will be the musical background for their activity.

• For actors and actresses- they will reenact how the instrumentalist/s play their musical instruments.

• For the dancers- they will perform or interpret the composition through a dance number.

• For the painters- during the performances of the actors and actresses; and the dancers, they will paint how the 2 groups performed.

For the group of actors and dancers, each group will have five placards or score cards or paper marked:BEST, BETTER, GOOD, FAIR, NEEDS FOLLOW UPEach judging group will display a score card after evaluating each individual or group.
