INITIAL CONSULTATION (1-1.5 hours) This is how we start with each student. We ask that at least one parent be present. It takes place EITHER in Manhattan (Midtown West) or via Skype. The initial consultation consists of: Intro to MTCA - Student interview to help match the student to the coaches that best fit their personality and needs - Review of MTCA menu of services and policies. Audition Process Planning introduction: what to consider Preliminary school list guidance Vocal Health and Technique Assessment (1/2 hour) - Singing and speaking technique assessment and specific recommendations, including referral for further evaluation if needed - This assessment is done by our director, a licensed speech pathologist, and is required for all potential Musical Theatre auditionees. Acting (non-MT auditionees) may also choose to request this included ½ hour! Cost: $120 total (1.5 hours for Musical Theatre auditionees, 1 OR 1.5 hours for Acting auditionees) *There is no obligation beyond this consultation.

    MENU OF SERVICES

    Choose the combination of services that suits your needs!

    At MTCA, we understand that fully preparing for your auditions is a commitment of resources and time. We work with each student and family to shape an individualized coaching process based on the students specific audition material and skill-development needs. We offer flexible scheduling and a pay-per-session structure to help you plan coaching according to your schedule and budget.     AUDITION SONG COACHING Song Consultation and Selection

    o 1 hour consultation to: Review students current repertoire book Discuss students song and acting preferences and strengths Explore students vocal type and timbre (unique sound)

    Song Coaching Sessions

    o Individual coaching sessions to: Select and cut songs that best show off the students strengths as well as fit all schools

    requirements (in most cases, a total of three monologues will suffice) Prepare music correctly for audition accompanists* Create accompaniment tracks* Teach and apply text analysis for songs Teach and apply how to use music to inform acting choices Create an active context for each song Coach musical styling and vocal tech help (when needed) Determine which songs should fill out each students audition song book Teach/review In the room procedure for working with an accompanist and basic song

    interview preparation *May involve an additional fee And of course putting all of these elements together to create a performance! Cost: $120/hour *The length of the song selection consultation and the minimum number of song coaching sessions required is based on the amount of material the student needs to prepare: - For 2 songs: 7 total hours (1 hour consultation, 6 coaching hours) - For 3 songs: 9 total hours (1 hour consultation, 8 coaching hours) - For each additional song (beyond 3): 2 coaching hours In cases where MTCA deems a student fully prepared before the minimum number of sessions is reached, we will reduce the minimum number of coaching sessions required. All song coaching includes audition attire, headshot, and artistic resume guidance, as well as any needed pre-screen planning & rehearsal.

    MONOLOGUE COACHING Monologue Consultation

    o 1 hour consultation to: Discuss students acting experience and material preferences Read through sample monologues provided by coach Assess the students personality and acting strengths, in order to explore what kind of

    material they will most connect with Introduce student to Interview preparation, to be explored more thoroughly in later sessions

    Monologue Coaching Sessions

    o Individual coaching sessions to: Select and cut monologues that best show off the students strengths as well as fit all

    schools requirements (in most cases, a total of three monologues will suffice) Learn and apply the basic fundamentals of text work to help the student build active pieces Learn and apply the basics of acting technique to help students create pieces that are both

    high stakes and grounded in truth Introduce students (where necessary) to the basics of working with classical text, and help

    them find joy and facility with language Continue Interview preparation, and help prepare the student for any curveballs they may be

    thrown in an audition room (adjustments, improvisations, etc)

    Cost: $120/hour *The minimum number of monologue coaching sessions required is based on the amount of material the student needs to prepare: - For 2 monologues: 6 total hours (1 hour consultation, 5 monologue coaching hours) - For 3 monologues: 8 total hours (1 hour consultation, 7 monologue coaching hours) - For each additional monologue (beyond 3): 2 coaching hours In cases where MTCA deems a student fully prepared before the minimum number of sessions is reached, we will reduce the minimum number of coaching sessions required.     DANCE AUDITION PREP Dance Assessment

    o 1.5 hour consultation that includes: A short ballet barre, followed by a jazz combination Evaluation of dance technique and performance and recommendations for home studio work

    to maximize prep for dance auditions Cost: $180 (1.5 hours) + studio rental (~$34) Dance Coaching Sessions*

    o Private coaching sessions to: Enhance dance technique Help students learn how to pick up combinations quickly and what to emphasize while

    performing the dance audition Cost: $120/hour + studio rental (~$23) *There is no minimum number of dance coaching sessions required. MTCA Pre-screen Dance Coaching

    1 hour choreography consultation to explore the student's technical and characterization skills (also includes choosing music)

    1 hour of work time for the dance coach to work creating choreography tailored specifically to the student

    1.5 hours to teach the choreography

    Cost: $420 + studio rental (~$23) MTCA College Prep Dance Class

    o 2 hour monthly (or sometimes bi-weekly) group classes: Open to MTCA members and non members (bring friends!) Each class includes barre or center technique work, across-the-floor work, and a jazz

    combination (new combinations each class) Cost: $40/class

    VOCAL TECHNIQUE Private Singing Voice Lessons $100/hour *No minimum required AUDITION INTERVIEW PREPARATION Individual Interview Preparation Sessions $120/hour *No minimum required COLLEGE COUNSELING Individual College Counseling Sessions:

    Specialized college counseling for the BFA application and audition process Counseling services provided by a certified guidance counselor who is also an MTCA alumni

    parent and a working actor Services customized to each familys needs, including: Adding to, refining, and finalizing College List Application organization help Audition scheduling help Essay guidance Academic Resume guidance

    Cost: $120/hour COLLEGE ESSAY GUIDANCE Individual Work Sessions:

    Specialized essay guidance for the BFA application and audition process Number and length of sessions customized to student need

    Cost: $120/hour

    MASTER CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS Group Master Classes and Workshops open to MTCA students ONLY.

    o These will occur throughout the year and will include: Alumni and Parent Q & A for current students and parents Master classes with college theatre department faculty Pop song master class (How to choose and act a pop song, now required by some schools) Shakespeare master class Special dance master classes featuring current and classic Broadway choreography

    Prices vary MOCK COLLEGE AUDITIONS The MTCA Mock College Audition open to MTCA students ONLY

    o Full-day (9am 6pm) mock audition that includes: Multiple presentations of all audition material for different panels of coaches One-on-one feedback from each coach on panel Full dance audition including ballet technique and jazz combination Audition interview prep session Parent meeting Lunch/Q&A with coaches Offered in NYC several times a year and in other cities as demand merits

    Cost: $300/day for Acting Program Auditionees $350/day for Musical Theatre Auditionees (includes dance audition)
