Spanish and English and other necessary music supplies. There
are 30 choir members, so the books will save a lot of money
and paper. The winners won two beauful baskets, Starbucks
Coffee and a Sunshine Mountain Winery Wine Basket.
FR. ADRIANS CORNER
My corner this weekend is very short as we have
lots to read in the current edion of the Parish Bul-
len. Ill keep all my informaon and updates for
next week.
I wanted to express my hearelt thanks to all the
parishioners who made Christmas so special. Christ-
mas is always a special me but I was parcularlytouched this year by the generosity of people both
to me personally and to the parish. For example,
we had an abundance of flowers, thanks to the
many contribuons to the Flower Fund. People
gave of their me decorang and preparing the
Chapel and Serra Center for the fesvies. To the
Lectors, Eucharisc Ministers, Choirs and Musicians;
to our Servers and Ushers as well as our Greeters
and Sacristans; to the Environment Team and parc-
ularly to the Audio Visual Volunteers under theleadership of Jackie Bickford, I say on behalf of all at
the Parish, THANK YOU! And thanks too for the
gis and cards but especially for your kind good
wishes and thoughulness - so much chocolate, so
lile me!
My New Years resoluon? Same as last year. Try
to be kinder to others and take more exercise.
Wishing you many blessings in this New Year!

RETREAT: CONFIRMATION STUDENTS
Dear Parishioners,
The Confirmaon students who will make their sacra-
ment this year will go on retreat January 19th
and 20th
at
the Old Mission Retreat Center. Our involved staff and
volunteers have been working diligently to ensure that
their retreat is of high quality, as we plan for good food,
comfortable sleeping arrangements, dynamic presenta-
ons and acvies, and professional planning. We have
every hope that the retreat will stand out to each student
as an experience of encountering the love of Christ, and
the love of their Catholic Chrisan community.
Every year there are about 10 to 15 students who cannot
afford the tuion fee ($150). We feel that finances should
never stand in the way of our students receiving their edu-
caon leading up to Confirmaon, and the Sacrament it-
self. For this reason, were reaching out to you all, our pa-
rishioners, and asking for monetary donaons to meet the
costs of the program, and specifically the retreat. If you
wish to donate, you can mail or drop off a check to the
front office with Confirmaon Donaons wrien in the
notes line. You can also donate at the parish office using
your credit card.
Thank You and God Bless,
Nathan McWeeney, Youth Leadership Coordinator

There are 132,656 private and public schools in the United
States, according to Department of Educaon stascs. Of
those, 6,980 are Catholic elementary or secondary
schools. And in the Diocese of San Diego, there is only one
Montessori Catholic School -- Old Mission Montessori
School. What sets our parish school and all Catholic schools
apart from the pack?
Three things, say educators, parents and community lead-ers: faith, academics and service. Catholic school students are
held to a higher standard for all three of these priories. So,
fingly, our 2013 Catholic Schools Week theme is: Raise the
Standards. Keep an eye on this column for more informaon
on acvies and informaon for students, families, parishion-
ers and the community at large. Catholic Schools week begins
Sunday, January 27th
, through Saturday, February 2, 2013.

buenos deseos y tu bondad muchos chocolates y tan
poco empo!
Mi resolucin para el ao nuevo? La misma del ao
pasado.
ejercicio.
Desendoles muchas bendiciones este Ao Nuevo!
Padre Adrian.
