AVID Letter of Introduction
Purpose To help build a better relationship with each of your
academic teachers.Assignment
Write a polite, formal letter including the following elements:
1) Identify yourself as an AVID student and number of years in the program
2) Summarize your goals for college & career (major, university, etc.)
3) Address any areas of strength or growth you would like your teachers to be aware of this year
Reminders Write what can be read quickly as teachers will be extra
busy this time of year Maintain an honest yet positive tone 1st Draft due Tues 8/23

your transcript.If you received a “D” or “F” in a class, you need to
highlight that box on your worksheet.If you made up a “D” or “F” (either in summer school or
in regular school), cross out the original grade and put the new grade in the same box.
For C-G requirements, write the name of the course in the description box and check the “approved UC/CSU A-G” course list
For the G requirement, you can use the extra year of World History, extra years of Math, Science, Language or those listed on the “approved UC/CSU A-G” course list
