MS Bridge
MS-ACSAs part of Mercury Security’s mission to design and build a completely open access control hardware platform with a highly articulated API, the new MS-ACS Bridge offers a direct retrofit of Software House’s® Pro Series ACM module.
The MS-ACS Bridge is a multi-device interface panel that replicates the Pro Series ACM access control hardware form factor for fast “screwdriverless” change over and easy migration of Software House® client infrastructure to any Authentic Mercury software partner solutions.
Built on the Authentic Mercury platform, the MS-ACS interface panel provides the ability to control access for eight openings and interfaces with an array of reader technologies: Weigand or clock and data protocol based-readers capable of being individually configured. Additionally, the MS-ACS has the native capability to monitor the door position, manage the door locking hardware and request-to-exit devices.
Additional Benefits:
• Simple Migration – Provides a streamlined path to move organizations from proprietary and/or legacy systems to open platforms, while reducing overall costs by eliminating the need to rewire legacy peripheral devices.
• Open and Flexible – The Authentic Mercury hardware platform is based on open architecture access control technology, which is designed to support emerging technologies, changing industry standards and evolving system environments.
• Market-Proven: – With the industry’s largest installed base and greatest accumulated runtime of any access hardware provider, Mercury Security has consistently provided partners and customers with the most reliable and scalable platform for more than 20 years.
Application Notes
The MS-ACS is an integral component in the Mercury MS Bridge family approach to migrate Pro Series hardware to flexible, feature-rich Mercury access hardware. When paired with a MS-ICS, customers can begin reaping the benefits of the industry leading, open Authentic Mercury access control platform.
Features
• 8 reader capacity supporting multiple open reader technologies
• Universal I/O device characterization
• AES 128 bit data encryption
Benefits
• Retrofits Pro Series ACM modules from Software House®
• Built on the Open Authentic Mercury platform
• The MS-ACS interface panel is supported by the MS-ICS and offers the complete library of Mercury functionality, just as the R8S and I8S products.
The Authentic Mercury open platform delivers quality assurance derived from the most proven and reliable hardware in the industry. Driven by our engineering excellence and technology leadership, Authentic Mercury hardware is designed as an access control platform that easily encompasses emerging technologies, changing industry standards and evolving system environments. Make yours Authentic, Make sure its Merc.
MS Bridge
The MS-ACS is for use in low voltage, Class 2 Circuits only.
Primary Power: 12 Vdc, ± 10 %, 3.0 A maximum
Communication: 9600, 19200, 38400, or 115200 bps, asynchronous
Inputs: 16 unsupervised/supervised, standard EOL: 500/1K/1K ohm, 1 %, ¼ watt
Outputs: 8 outputs, Form-C, 2.5 A @ 30 Vac/dc, resistive
Reader Interface Power: 5 to 12 Vdc regulated, 350 mA maximum each reader port
Reader Data Inputs: TTL compatible inputs
Reader Data: Use shielded cables Cable Requirements: 1 twisted pair per input, 22 AWG shielded. RS-485: 24AWG, 120 ohm impedance, twisted pair with shield, 4,000 ft. (1,200 m) maximum
Alarm Inputs: 30 ohms maximum loop resistance
Outputs: As required for the load
12 Vdc: 20 AWG, 500 feet maximum, reader powered by MS-ICS board 18 AWG, 3000 feet maximum, reader powered locally
Dimensions: W 4.65 in (118 mm) L 12.25 in (311 mm) H .65 in (16.5 mm)
Weight: 9.35 oz. (265 g) nominal without connectors Environmental:Temperature: -20 TO +70 °F storage, 0 to +50 °C operational
Humidity: 5 to 95% RHNC
Standards: UL 294 Recognized, CE Compliant, RoHS, FCC Part 15 Class A
Note: The above specifications are based on the typical 12 volt reader drawing 125 mA. Reader power requirements vary between different models. Excessive voltage drop on long cable runs may require a larger cable gauge or powering the reader from a local power source. Refer to the power specification for the reader being installed.
