School Hours

Daily attendance at school is fundamental to success in education. The following attendance regulations have been developed to promote good habits for the future as well as for the present.

The school day for all students is as follows:

8:00 A.M. until 2:45 P.M. (Regular)

8:00 A.M. until 1:15 P.M. (Early Dismissal/First Fridays)

Kindergarten students are to be dropped off in the classroom at the door after the St. Joseph entry doors open at 7:45 A.M. Tardy bell rings at 8:00A.M. Give your child a blessing on the forehead and have them do the same to you before you leave i.e. “God Bless you son\daughter…”

After 8:10 A.M., student must receive a tardy pass from the School office.

Between 8:00 A.M. and 8:10 A.M. you may come directly to the class and they will be marked late.

NOTE: A tardy fine of $5 per infraction per family for the fifth and subsequent tardiness in that trimester will be assessed to the family as an encouragement to be responsible. These fines will be donated to the charities ministry.

• Lunch time for Kindergarten is at 10:30 A.M. everyday.

• Students may bring their lunch from home or purchase hot meals, when available. Students are expected to assist in the clean up of their dining area, be compliant with rules, and show respect for other students, staff and lunch supervisors.

• All cafeteria lunches are to be purchased with a lunch card available on Mondays from the caterer in the school office. Each lunch is $3.25.

• Please fill out student information form for teacher and leave with us today.

• Make sure to list all phone number information and update it with Kindergarten teachers and office if it changes for this school year.

• It is very important to let us know of any allergies or medication that your child is taking. There is a very specific rule for dispensing medication during school hours. Please see me separately after the Open House for any further questions.

• Modesty, neatness, and cleanliness of dress and student enhance classroom decorum and contribute to positive learning experiences.

• It is most advisable to have ALL personal items and clothing clearly labeled with the owner's name. Lost and found items are held for a brief time by the school office, and if not claimed, are given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Goodwill, or Home & School Uniform Resale Fundraiser.

• AA Uniform Co., located at 8820 SW 131st Street, Miami, FL has a complete listing of our uniform requirements. (305) 254-0000.

• School uniforms are selected to show unity and pride. Not only are students expected to be in PROPER uniform each day, but are expected to wear their uniforms PROPERLY. Parents are responsible to see that their child is suitably dressed for school each day, that the uniforms fit properly, and that the school uniform is neat and clean.

• Polo - White or Lt. Blue, long or short sleeve with Holy Rosary Logo.

• Girls:  Culottes - Plaid #3 (211) with elastic back

• Boys:  Shorts - Navy (AA uniform pull-on style with elastic waistband)

• Shoes/Socks – Solid white (Velcro required)

• Sweat suit: (cold weather only) Bottom - Solid Navy, Top - Solid Navy or Ash Gray with Holy Rosary screen print

• Fleece Jacket, Sweater Vest or Sweater

• Read at least 10-15 minutes each weeknight with your child.

• Some home learning exercises may be given each night not to exceed 20 minutes in duration.

• Some family projects may be sent home during the school year.

• Some WebQuests will be provided during the school year for

additional home learning experiences.

• Report cards are distributed 3 times a year-TRIMESTER.

• Kindergarten teacher will send home an individual progress report folder periodically for all students. This will be a good way to communicate with all of you.

• Please call the office to schedule a parent/teacher conference with me to discuss any concerns you may have. I will return your call within 24 hours from when I receive the message. I will always be available to meet with you after school by appointment. After school hours for the teacher begins at 3:30 P.M. each day.
