You need to cover the following areas in this evaluation:

Page 2: Mrs Brown Preliminary Evaluation

The aim of the preliminary task is to get you used to the way of working in preparation to your main task. In all media production there are three stages. You should aim to evaluate each stage.

Planning and research (Pre-production)Filming and productionEditing and changing (Post-production)

Planning and pre-production• What did you do to get ready for the photo-shoot?

Consider some of the planning stages you may have used and explain how useful they were:– Shooting list– Storyboard – Timing plan– Use of research for camera work– Action plan– Viewing of YouTube and research on the camera

techniques– Etc…etc…

• Did you change any of your decisions? Why?

Production and shooting• Explain how the film shoot went. What lessons did you learn from

the process?• Did you have to re-shoot? Explain why.• How did you organise the shoot? How did this work? Did you film

it in stages? What were the issues with this? The benefits?• How useful did you find your shooting list and storyboard?• What equipment did you use?• When you viewed your footage were you happy with it? What

might you have changed? • How did you film to allow for the camera shots listed in the brief?

Was this done ‘in-camera’ or did you need to do this post production?

Post-production

• What software did you favour to complete any post-production editing? How did you find this? What would you like to learn about the software programme for the future? What other technologies did you use?

• Did you use an edit decision list? If so how useful did you find it? How might you change this in the future?

• Consider some of the editing decisions you made. What effect did these have?

• How pleased were you with the final product? What would you change?

• What targets would you give yourself for the next main task?

And finally….• How did you use technology to record all

these processes? • How did you use your blog? • What would you like to do in the future to

make sure your work is presented in an interesting, multi-media way?

The Presentation

Your work will need to be loaded onto your blog with all the other work. Your blog will need to be carefully organised so that your work is accessible to your teacher and the examiners.
