See“Involvement Helps for Younger Children” for helps in teaching the verse to the younger children.)
“Choose a Time of Day” – After you have read this verse from the Bible, explained what it means, andrepeated it at least two times, you may begin this drill. Name a time of day (i.e., when making your bed, inclass at school, on the playground during recess, watching TV in the evening, etc.) when you need God’s helpto say “no” to sin. Recite the verse again and choose a different time of day to talk about.
HYMN FOR MOSES #7-#12: (2 minutes)
BIBLE LESSON: (20 minutes)MOSES #12 – “God’s Plan for a New Leader”(See “Involvement Helps for Younger Children” for ways to involve the children in the Bible lesson.)
COUNSEL TIME: (If you have a helper, hostess, or Teacher Junior Grade, let them do the review time while you counsel thosewho responded to the invitation. Otherwise, at the end of club, be sure to remind the children who respondedto the invitation to stay after club for a few minutes.)
E.O.T.O.: (5 minutes)Demonstrate to the children how to use the E.O.T.O. “Lost Sheep & Good Shepherd”. Encourage thechildren to use this witnessing tool with a friend who needs to know about Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
QUIET TIME NOTEBOOK: (1 minute)Briefly highlight what was learned from last week’s Quiet Time. Ask the children to do one per day.
MISSIONARY TIME: (16 minutes)1. Pray for the missionary.2. Show goal chart and mention the amount given so far.3. Missions song: 4. Story: Secret in the Woods. Teach the portion of the story listed under Week #14.
REVIEW ACTIVITY: (7 minutes)Use the activity below or the Bible Learning Game from the “Involvement Helps for Younger Children.”
“Secret Message” – Write the following blanks on a poster board for the secret message. “_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ .” As each question is answered correctly, the childmay guess a letter to go in the blanks. If the letter is part of the message, fill it in. After each letter is filledin, the child may try to guess the message: “Thank God at all times.” If the message is guessed before allthe questions have been answered, use a second secret message such as, “I can thank God for saving me.”– MOSES, Law Giver, CEF Press.
Review questions for MOSES #12:
1. What did God do to punish the people for complaining once again? (Sent poisonous snakes into thecamp.)
2. When Moses prayed and asked God to take the snakes away, what did God tell him to do? (Makea snake out of brass and set it on a tall pole.)
3. What was the only thing the people had to do to be made well? (Look at the brass snake.) 4. What happened to anyone who didn’t believe and refused to look at the pole? (They died.) 5. How does the brass snake on the pole remind us of Jesus? (Like Moses put the brass serpent on a
pole and lifted it up high, Jesus was nailed to a cross and was lifted up high for all to see. Anyone who“looks” to what Jesus did on the cross and believes that He did it to pay for their sins, will be forgiven.)
6. Did God allow Moses to go into the Promised Land with the people? (No.) 7. Why didn’t God allow Moses to enter the Promised Land? (He disobeyed God and hit the rock when
God told him to speak to it.) 8. What did God do for Moses because he would not be able to enter the Promised Land? (He
allowed him to see it. He showed him the land from the top of the mountain.) 9. Why do you think God did this for Moses? (He loved him.)10. Who buried Moses’s body? (God did.)
*COUNSEL TIME: (*Only if you did not counsel with the children earlier.)
SEND HOME WITH THE CHILDREN: 1. Pre-session papers for older and younger child 2. Memory verse token 3. Quiet Time 4. E.O.T.O.

MOSES – LESSON #12“God’s Plan for a New Leader”
1 Corinthians 15:57 – “But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”(The underlined portion of the verse indicates what the younger children should memorize.)
T USE the visual and let the children read the verse with you.
T READ the verse from your Bible while holding the visual so the childrencan follow along.
T DO MOTIONS together with the children while you EXPLAIN the verseas follows:
1 Corinthians 15:57(Hands as an open Bible.)
“But thanks be to God,”(Fold hands together as praying andlook up. Point up toward Heaven.)
“who giveth us the victory”(Point to yourself. Make fists and liftarms in air, in victory.)
“through our Lord Jesus Christ.”(Put fingers together to make cross.)
1 Corinthians 15:57(Hands as an open Bible.)
– This is the address (where the verse is located inthe Bible). The book of First Corinthians, chapter15, verse 57.
– It’s good to say, “thank you” when someone doessomething nice for you. We should thank Godbecause He has done something wonderful for us.This next part tells us what He did.
– Each of us are in a battle against sin. Satan isalways trying to get us to sin and disobey God.This verse says that God make us able to say “no”to sin; He will help us to win over sin. How?
– God sent Jesus, His only Son, to die on the crossfor our sins. If you know Jesus as your Saviour, you can have victory over sin. You don’t have tosin anymore. He will help you do what’s right.
– The book of First Corinthians, chapter 15, verse57.
T DRILL the verse with the activity listed on the Moses #12 Agenda.
T TEST the children for their understanding of the verse.
Why should we thank God?How did He do that?

LOST SHEEP AND GOOD SHEPHERD
EACH ONE TELL ONE by Rita L. Lobdell
The Bible calls Jesus the GoodShepherd. It also says that we arelike sheep. The sheep in this pictureis separated from the GoodShepherd. (Show the picture of thesheep who has gone away from theShepherd.) This reminds me of thosepeople who have never receivedJesus as Saviour.
The Good Shepherd loves you verymuch. He wants to save you fromyour sin, but you must ask Him tocome and live in your heart and tobe your Saviour. Let me tell you howyou can do that. It is not very hardto do. The letters A-B-C will helpyou know what to do:
Admit that you are lost because of your sin. “All we like sheep
have gone astray; we have turnedevery one to his own way ...”(Isaiah 53:6).
Believe that Jesus willingly gave His life for you. John 10:11
says, “... the good shepherd givethHis life for the sheep.” Jesus diedon the cross and gave His preciousblood to pay for your sins. He wasburied but did not stay dead. Jesusarose and is living today.
Call on Jesus to take away your sin and be your Saviour.
Would you like to ask Jesus to beyour Saviour? You can tell Him rightnow in prayer. (If your friend isready to make this decision, encourage him/her to pray quietly, asking Jesus to save her/him.)“For whosoever shall call uponthe name of the Lord shall besaved” (Romans 3:10).
If you have asked Jesus to be yourSaviour, you can know for surethat you have eternal life.
1 John 5:13 says, “These thingshave I written unto you thatbelieve on the name of the Son ofGod; that you may know that youhave eternal life....”
Eternal life means someday, whenyour life here on earth is over, youwill go to Heaven to be with theLord Jesus. You will not be separatedfrom Him. (Show the picture of theGood Shepherd holding the sheep.) “And I give unto them eternallife; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck themout of My hand” (John 10:28). I think we should thank the LordJesus for what He did for you andme. (You can pray quietly, thankingJesus that He died on the cross androse again so that you and I can haveeternal life.)
