Principal’s Report
Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews next Monday
Just a final reminder that next Monday, September 11th is a pupil-free day to allow for our parent-teacher -student interviews and it would be great to see all our families represented at the interviews.
The interviews commence at midday and conclude at 7pm, and as I’ve mentioned previously, the online booking system is open until 10am on the day of the interviews so if you haven't made your bookings yet there is still plenty of time to do so. If you don't have access to the internet or would like help making your bookings please contact Carmel or Cherie in the school office and they can com-plete the bookings for you.
Cycle 4 student reports were emailed to all families last Friday and students were given paper copies of the reports on Monday along with full details of how to book interview times. As mentioned in this information P-4 interviews are conducted in the classroom of your child and are 15 minutes in dura-tion. Interviews for students in Years 5-12 are conducted in the senior classrooms and are strictly lim-ited to five minutes so that parents have the opportunity to see all their child’s/children’s teachers. August ‘Aussie of the Month’
Last week the August ‘Aussie of the Month’ was announced and the very deserving recipient was Sa-rah Russell. Sarah was nominated by a teacher who commented that she is always helping others in the playground at recess and lunchtime. She is also very caring towards younger students, assisting them with things like tying shoelaces and helping them get cleaned up if they fall over.
In class, Sarah goes above and beyond what is asked of her, often using her initiative to help pack up and get things in the classroom organised. She is often the last to leave her cooking class as she stays behind to ensure that all tasks are completed.
Congratulations Sarah!
School Uniform
It is disappointing that a number of students continue to be out of uniform on a regular basis, and this is right across the school. Sneakers/runners are not part of the uniform and neither are skins or jack-ets other than the school jacket. Sports shorts are acceptable for PE classes but aren't to be worn other than for PE classes. Parents and guardians are asked to ensure that their children wear the cor-rect uniform each day
P-4 Excursion
Our P-4 students have a very exciting day to look forward to on Friday as they head off to the Mel-bourne Museum. We look forward to hearing all about the day, especially the “Bug Lab” exhibition.
