Our Moodboard

This is Charlie and I's moodboard for our music video. I collected the images for the moodboard and Charlie placed them in position on the page. We have a lot of inspirations film posters such as films like, 'Charlie St Cloud' and 'PS I love you.' These have helped us to establish a good idea in the romance genre. Also we have included a lot of stereotypical ideas for a music video of the 'Romance' genre for example, we have lots of images of couples together and a few hearts. We have also repeated two seperate motifs which are the word 'Love' and hearts so when our moodboard is glanced at it is obvious what the genre is meant to be. Our images of couples together are extremely stereotypical because they are mostly kissing or very close to each other. We have also included some close ups of couples hugging, kissing and holding hands which is very important in a romance music video. Also We have a lot of red on our moodboard because it is often associated with love. There is also an image of a man crying because our music video includes a break up and our main character is very upset by this so that image represents that.

This is an image of Charlie and I presenting our moodboard to the class. It generally went down well with the class and we received a lot of positive feedback. Some positive things were that it was instantly obvious what our genre was due to the pictures of couple together and the big hearts in the middle of the page. Also the red all around the outside clarified the romantic side. Another good point was some of the images used for example, there is an image of a couple walking on the beach and a couple holding hands which creates a heart on their hand. We were told that we should include these images in our music video because they are very standout shots.

Some negative points were the lyrics around the outside, although they fit in well with our genre, they aren't clear or big enough which makes it difficult to read. Also we have only included one image of somebody looking sad/crying which isn't enough because our idea revolves around a break up and one main character being sad.
