U'IIT 2

Unit 2 was shutdown on Dece=ber 31, 1979, in order to repair the corespray flow test valve. Additional work perfc =ed during this cutageincluded "tinor =cdifications to the contain=ent isolation signalsaffecting the Containment At=copheric Dilutien system valves, installation of valve position =cnitors for safety relief valves, andmodification of Control Rod Drive pipe hangers in the dr/well. TheUnit was returned to service en January 9 During the return copower, a reactor scram occurred due to failure of electroniccomponents in the feedpump centrol circuit. Control system repairswere made and the Unit returned to sertice briefly en January 10before it was removed from sertice to acccc=odate replacement ofcheck valves in the instrment nitrogen supply line for theAutcmatic Depressurization System (ADS). This outage was extendedin order to replace the 23 recirculation pu=p seal, and repair themotor operator for the recirculation pump suction valve. The Unitwas returned to service on Januarf 19 and reached maximum power onJanuary 22. A load reduction to approxi=ately 330 MWe occurred onJanuary 22 due to low lube oil pressure for the recire pump MG setdue to an electrical fault en an auxiliarf system. Repairs were cade

and the recire m was returned to service and the Unit reachedmaximum capable load en January 2h. On January 25 a load reducticnwas taken to acec==cdate control rod pattern adjustments. The Unitreached its =axi=um coastdown power en January 28. The Unit wasin power coastdown at the end of Januarf.

UNIT 3

On January b Unit 3 experienced a brief power reduction toappro h tely 89% due to vibration tripping of the 33 eeacterfeedpump. The pu=p coupling was lubricated and successfully returnedto service. On Januarf 10 a power reduction was begun to complywith licensing requirements due to work associated with modificationsto the instraent nitrogen supply to the Automatic DepressurizationSystem. The Unit returned to full load on January 11. The Unit wasremoved from service on January 12 to acommodate replacement of checkvalves in the instrment supply line for the Automatic DepressurizationSystem (ADS). Return of the Unit to service was delayed untilJanuary 18 to accoc=odate tube repairs in the 23 feedwater heater. On January 19 the power rise was interrupted to adjust the controlrod pattern with rated power being reached on Januarf 20. The Unitwas removed from service on January 29 to repair the '3' recirculation

m seal.
