Senses at the seaside
For today and tomorrow’s writing, we would like you to explore and describe the five
senses at the seaside. Make sure you include expanded noun phrases (two adjectives to
describe a noun). There are two PDFs for you to choose from, one requires more writing
and the other requires more drawing. The choice is down to you!
Please focus on what can you see and hear at the seaside. Tomorrow you will be writing
what you can smell, taste and touch at the seaside.
Theme:

For theme today we would like you to
investigate which material would be best
to use for a beach umbrella. Have a think about the
amount of shade each material gives.
For this investigation, you could use any materials you
have at home. For example, tin foil, cling film, a t-shirt, a
pair of jeans etc. We would recommend testing around 5
materials. If it isn’t sunny enough today, you could swap
this investigation with tomorrow’s theme activity.
