Purpose of DECIDE to Succeed Training• Mandatory for all new managers as one part of the

certification process required by the Mississippi State Department of Education and the Office of Child Nutrition.

• Designed to help managers new to their jobs become successful leaders in the school nutrition program.

USDA Professional Standards• Starting July 1, 2015, managers must complete training

each year for a specified number of hours. The training is sponsored by the Office of Child Nutrition.

Possible topics to include: • training in administrative practices, • identification of reimbursable meals at point of service,• nutrition and meal standards, • health and safety standards, • and any other topics as determined by the Office of

Child Nutrition to address School Nutrition Program integrity or other critical issues.
