*ACT Prep Class: Registration is currently open for students who are interested in taking an ACT prep class. The next class will be November 4 and 11 from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. The cost of the class is $50 and includes a preparation book. Sign up in the Finance Office. The class will be limited to the first 36 students who sign up. See your Counselor if you have questions about the ACT or the prep class.

*Attendance Information: The district Parent Link System that calls parents alerting

them of their student’s absences and tardies, was not working on Friday, Oct 27, and is

still not working today, Oct 30. Due to this problem, you will not receive calls, e-mails, or

texts regarding your student’s attendance on those days. Please check your student’s

attendance on SIS and contact the attendance office to get those absences/tardies excused.

If you have questions please call Mrs. Davis in our attendance office.

*College tours! We have partnered with SFHS to provide college tours for seniors on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. The tour is free, but students will need to bring their own money for lunch. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Buses and suburbans will leave from SFHS, so students will need to arrange for a ride to and from their school. Students can pick up a registration form/permission slip in the Counseling Office.

If you have questions, please email Mrs. Robyn Dunn at [email protected] (Info flyer below)

*Utah College Application Week: November 6-10 is Utah College Application Week. Seniors will have the opportunity to complete college applications during their English classes on November 9 and 10. Counselors and some college admissions representatives will be available during those classes to assist students with that process. In connection with College Application Week, MMHS will be holding a FAFSA completion event on November 9 in the library from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Seniors and their parents are invited and encouraged to attend this event and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. A college financial aid advisor will be here that evening to answer questions and assist families in completing the FAFSA.

*Athletic Physicals: Attention parents and athletes! Important information about physicals! Register my athlete has changed the dates of what we can accept for physicals. Instead of accepting a physical from 1 year to the day that the physical was given for, we now have to accept them for the school year. Meaning that any physical that was turned in last school year "expired" on May 31st. This seems unfair to those athletes who turned in their physical for a spring sport (last school year), so we are offering a free physical to any athlete that turned in a physical dated February 1, 2017- May 31, 2017. You just have to come and fill out a new physical form and see the doctor at our on-campus physicals. All student athletes will need a physical before being allowed to participate on a sports team. SFHS will be holding sports physical exams on campus in the Main Gym (Physicians will be in attendance for these exams). This is for anyone who needs a physical for participation in athletics (including try-outs) or can be done for other things such as scout camps etc. The cost is $20.00 cash or check unless your physical is one mentioned above then it is free. This money is a fundraiser for the athletic training budget and helps us purchase necessary items to care for our athletes! Paperwork can be completed ahead of time and is available online at: registermyathlete.com or can be filled out at the time of the physical. All athletes need to register on this site to try-out for a sport. If you have any questions, please contact Krista Prusak, our Athletic Trainer. You may also contact Krista at: [email protected] or 801-310-9987.

*MMHS GOLD RUSH WEEK (Nov 6-17): MMHS Student Council is sponsoring the Gold Rush/Food Drive Week to benefit Tabitha's Way in Spanish Fork. This is an annual tradition at MMHS, and in past years we have reached a goal of over 30,000 items of food for Tabitha's Way. We want to break the record this year!! We will be accepting donations from November 6-17 and students are encouraged to bring in food items or canned goods to their classes anytime. Student Council will also be involved with Hobo Thursday during lunch on Nov 2, Nov 9 and Nov 16 where they will be asking students for extra change that can help buy Thanksgiving dinners for up to 20 students who are needy within our school. Every donation is appreciated!
