• Students should consult with their academic advisors to insure that proposed coursework taken at a host school will apply toward their MJI academic program of study.
VERY IMPORTANT!
IF YOU OR YOUR HOST SCHOOL HAVE NOT YET SENT MJI A LIST OF THE COURSES YOU ARE TAKING THIS ACADEMIC YEAR (2011 – 2012) AT YOUR HOST SCHOOL, YOU MUST DO SO IMMEDIATELY!

$ Title IV Financial Aid $ • The USA government gives out financial aid to its ci9zens
who have successfully completed high school who want to earn a Bachelors degree but lack the financial means to do so. This is paid for by USA taxpayers
• The reason the government gives out this money is that studies show that ci9zens who have earned a Bachelors degree will become more financially produc9ve members of society.
• To remain qualified for this money you must be successfully progressing towards your Bachelors degree. If you fail to show Sa9sfactory Academic Progress (SAP), the government will stop awarding you Title IV funds.

SEMESTER LENGTH
Fall Semester is an 8‐week
semester. It begins on
November 06, 2011 and
ends December 31, 2011
Go to sakai.mji.edu
User ID: firstinitiallastnamelast2digitsofyoursocialsecuritynumber@mji.edu Password: Ten-digit Student ID that will be emailed to you separately. If you do not receive it within a week, please email me at [email protected].
Enter your username and password. These are lower case, and case-sensitive.
Click on the tab for the course you wish to
enter. Fall courses are JST251 & HIS280.
You must parIcipate in both courses each
week.
Click on ‘Home’ for an overview of the course, course
objec9ves, general guidelines, and other relevant
informa9on.
Click on ‘Syllabus’ for a schedule of the course material and dates. Please note that each week is considered ‘one unit’ and you must complete the unit test and submit discussion ques9on responses each week, without excep9on.
Click on ‘Resources’ to locate course texts and lectures
1. Click on the link to the text file to read the text of the course or unit.
2. If you want to hear a lecture, first click on ‘Unit’, then on the desired
‘lecture’.
Click on ‘Tests & Quizzes’ and any available tests will show up on your screen. You will have one test per week.
Due Dates for Tests
Each week you will be required to do the test for
that week’s unit. It will be available all week – from
Sunday 12:00:00 AM un9l Saturday 11:59:59 PM.
You must complete your test during this period.
Do not expect your test to be up beyond the due
date. I will only repost tests past the due date for
you if you got married that week, had a
documented medical emergency, or G‐d forbid, had
a bereavement in the family.
Click on the available test to begin. Please note that you
only have 30 minutes to complete the test from the
moment you begin. Please complete any available tests.
View of test in progress. Test questions are either multiple choice or true/false. Please click on one answer per question. Test questions and answers are in Hebrew and English.
Test Design
The tests are designed to prevent chea9ng. Test
ques9ons are drawn from a ques9on pool much
larger than the number of ques9ons on the test.
Thus, the test ques9ons you get will not be the
same test ques9ons that your classmate gets.
Even the answers are randomly ordered, so that
if two students do get the same ques9on, the
answers will not be ordered the same way.
When you finish answering all the ques9ons to
the best of your ability, click on ‘Submit for
Grading’
You will be prompted again to ‘Submit for Grading’ to
ensure that you are fully ready to hand in your test. If
you want to return to the test, click on ‘previous’.
This is what the page will look like when you have
successfully submiQed a test. Click ‘con9nue’ to see
your test score.
This is your test This is your score
What to do if you fail…
If you fail a test, please email me
immediately, and, if the due date
hasn’t passed, I will let you have
another chance to take the test.
Please note that your new test will
not have the same ques9ons as the
one you failed.
Each week, you will need to respond twice
to discussion ques9ons. To begin, click on
‘Forums’
In JST251, you will have 2 sections in each unit. In each section, you will need to answer 1 question or respond to another student’s response. You will need
to click on each section separately.
Once you’ve clicked on the sec9on, you will
need to click ‘Read Full Descrip9on’ to see
the ques9ons and respond.
Read through all the discussion questions, and
choose one to answer. When you’re ready, mentally note the question number and click on
‘Post New Thread’.
In this ‘message’ box, write your answer.
In the ‘Title’ box, write which question you are
answering, such as “answer to question 1”.
When you finish the message, click on ‘Post Message’.
For HIS280, you will find only one section per unit. You will need to click on the proper section, answer the question, AND comment on another student’s response. Otherwise, the forum is the same as JST251.
