Step 1: Arrive to WP Telework Procedures
In accordance with Department of the Army, Office of the Assistant Secretary Manpower and Reserve
Affairs memorandum dated August 16, 2017, Subject: Recertification of and Supporting Documentation
Required for the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) Entitlement for Regular Army and Reserve
Component Soldiers:
(5) Effective immediately, each Soldier will annually recertify their entitlement to BAH by completing a
new DA Form 5960. The recertification will be accomplished in conjunction with the required DD Form
93 (Record of Emergency Data) annual recertification. Soldiers will also recertify upon life changing
events (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth of a child, other dependent changes). The DA Form 5960 will be
signed by the Soldier and certified by the company level unit commander. Commanders may delegate,
in writing, this certification to the first commissioned officer in the Soldier’s chain of command.
At the time of your annual recertification, the Military Personnel Division will verify that your current
permanent change of station (PCS) order, current promotion order, and all applicable dependency
documents (marriage license and children’s birth certificates) are posted in your Official Military
Personnel File (OMPF). We recommend that you pre-screen this PRIOR to coming to your appointment
and if these items are missing please bring them in at the time of your appointment.
You will be required to complete your DA Form 5960 yourself and have it certified by your company
commander or his/her delegate.

please type these dependents on a blank continuation page but be sure to include all the required
information for each authorized dependent (Name, complete current address, relationship and DOB
for children).
11. Select the appropriate certification statement by placing an “X’ in the block.
You will then have to email your signed form to your company commander for certification- we will not forward the form for you. Once your commander has signed and returned your form to
you please email it to us or bring printed copy in when you come in for your appointment.
***NOTE*** For any Soldier missing the required dependency supporting documentation in
iPERMS after the 60-day period, the Army will reduce the Soldier’s BAH with-dependent or BAH-
DIFF entitlement to BAH without-dependent until the key supporting documents are provided.
