RECENT POSITIVE COVID CASES
We had one positive case late this week. All exposed students were contacted.
During our calls for contact tracing, several parents have asked about siblings quarantining as well. Only
those directly exposed to a person with COVID-19 are required to quarantine. If the sibling was not
exposed to the positive person directly, they are considered a “third party” contact, and they are not
required to quarantine.
KPREP NEXT WEEK
KPREP testing will be Tuesday through Thursday next week. Please make sure your student is in
attendance!
Check out the video from our student council about KPREP below!

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING CORNER
Grade 6: Conflict Solvers: In this week’s lesson, your child will use their conflict-solving expertise to help solve a realistic peer conflict. Parent
Engagement: Ask to see your child’s assignment. If they don’t have it, ask them to explain it to you. Think of a realistic conflict from real life, TV, a
movie, or book and have your child explain the steps they would take to resolve it.
Grade 7: Tips for Resolving Conflicts: In this week’s lesson, your child will apply the skills and knowledge they’ve learned in this unit to create a
tip sheet for resolving conflicts. Parent Engagement: Ask to see your child’s assignment. If they don’t have it, ask them to explain it to you. Think of
a realistic conflict from real life, TV, a movie, or a book, and have your child share what tips they think would be helpful in resolving it.
Grade 8: Guide to Healthy Relationships: In this week’s lesson, your child will create a guide to healthy relationships to inform, encourage, and
inspire their peers. Parent Engagement: Ask to see your child’s project. If they don’t have it, have them describe it. Ask them what the most important
thing they learned about healthy relationships is.
Bonus Lesson for 8th Graders: High School Challenges Your child will think ahead to some of the challenges they might face when starting high school
and identify people they can go to for help. Parent Engagement: Ask your child about something that makes them nervous about starting high school.
Share one thing you were nervous about when you first started high school, but that got better over time.
