DEDICATION

Woody Eney

With great affection and respect, we dedicate this production of

Da to the memory of Woody Eney. Woody was one of Virginia

Rep’s (and RVA’s) great actors and storytellers. If he wasn’t Irish,

he should have been. Overflowing with life, positive energy,

creativity, and the gift of gab, he was always there to coax the

road to rise up to meet you, the wind to always be at your back,

and the sun to shine warmly upon your face. He is greatly missed.

Landon Nagel (Charlie) was last seen at Virginia Rep as Gaston in

Beauty and the Beast, Thomas Jefferson in 1776, and Bait Boy in Airline Highway. Other favorites include Ophelia/Juliet in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged (Quill Theatre), Dean in Maple and Vine (Firehouse Theatre), Sam in The Flick (Cadence Theatre/Virginia

Rep), Vernon in They’re Playing Our Song (Virginia Rep, RTCC Best

Actor in Musical nomination), James in Children of a Lesser God

(Virginia Rep, RTCC Best Actor nomination), and Benny in Guys and Dolls (Virginia Rep).

Landon holds a B.F.A. in Acting from VCU School of the Arts, and is currently working

towards an M.F.A in Theatre Pedagogy at TheatreVCU. For my Da.

Louise Ricks (Mary Tate) is thrilled to return to the Virginia Rep stage.

She was last seen here as Riley Reynolds in Bo Wilson’s original

production of The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church. Outside of acting, Louise is also a photographer and award-

winning playwright and artist. Thank you for supporting local theatre

and enjoy your trip to Ireland!

Alan Sader (Da) As an actor, director and producer in theatre, Alan has

worked with Cybill Shepherd, Forrest Tucker, Bob Denver, Pat O’Brien,

Ray Walston, Yvonne De Carlo and Dana Andrews, and in TV and movies

with Nick Nolte, Barbara Streisand, Michelle Williams, Sissy Spacek, Sam

Waterston, Mary Tyler Moore, Samuel L. Jackson and Steve Carrell in

Spielberg’s Lincoln, Evan Almighty, and Prince of Tides, and has had a

continuing role in the soap, Another Life. Alan has received RTCC awards

for King Lear (2011, Richmond Shakespeare) and Lazarus Syndrome (2016, Richmond Triangle

Players) and nominations for Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2011-12, Firehouse Theatre

Project), and Donny in American Buffalo (2016, Quill Theatre). Alan has voiced countless TV/

radio commercials, is widely recognized and has been good-naturedly satirized by Bill Hader

on Saturday Night Live as “the blue-shirted guy with the beard” for ChildFund, for which he

was on-camera spokesman for a generation. In August 2016, Alan traveled to South Bend for

Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival’s The Tempest. Da marks a return after more than 25 years

to the Virginia Rep family. In February, Alan will appear in I’m Gonna Pray For You So Hard in

TheatreLab’s Basement.
