Mipros MiSO LC is a highly available, modular level cross-

ing solution that is adaptable to various environments and

customer-specifc requirements. It is designed or the most

demanding conditions and or a broad range o applications.

MiSO LC is ideal or primary and secondary lines, industry

lines and marshalling yards. It provides open interaces to uti-

lise existing and any other external level crossing equipment.

The reliability o the MiSO LC system has been proven in ap-

proximately 100 installations in public railways since 1995.

MODULARITY PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY IN SYSTEMSTRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONALITY

MiSO LC provides a modular and highly scalable systemstructure or both hardware and sotware. It can thereore befexibly adapted to various requirements and applications.Sotware conguration is based on the track geometry andcan be easily modied in the event o alterations and exten

sions. Hardware conguration is ully modular which allowseasy extensions to be made when needed.

MiSO LC controls and monitors train signals and road signals,

barriers and lights, and warning bells or road tra c. It pro

vides level crossing control or one track or several tracks and

or a varying number o signals, barriers and lights according

to needs. The road signals to be controlled can be based on

traditional bulb technology or modern LED technology. MiSO

LC supports various barrier constructions, including ull, hal

and double barriers.

This innovative system allows the use o various techniques

or line vacancy detection. It starts and stops warnings on

the basis o alarms that can be initiated by track circuits, axle

counting, local control or via remote control rom the train.

Moreover, any other technique in use, such as ultrasound or

inductive detection, can initiate the alarm.

OPEN INTERFACES ALLOWTHE USE OF EXISTING EQUIPMENT

The MiSO LC system is provided with open interaces. It is ca

pable o utilising existing level crossing equipment and thusallows eective level crossing modernisations in any environ

ment. MiSO LC is connectable to various types o equipment

whether they are determined by national requirements or by

the application.

Open interaces also enable the use o various techniques or

line vacancy detection. In addition, interaces with auxiliary

components originating rom harbour ports and vehicle

identication devices, or example, can be implemented in

MiSO LC. The system can also be connected to tra c lights

and synchronised with their unction.

MiSO LC can be implemented as a standalone system or itcan be integrated into the MiSO TCS interlocking system.When integrated into MiSO TCS, all ault indications and levelcrossing status data are transmitted through the interlockingsystem.

For the standalone solution, MiSO LC provides a commu

nication interace to transer saety critical inormation ontrain routes and barrier positions rom and to the interlocking system. I necessary, ault indications can be directed toother destinations to maintenance laptops and emergencycentres, or example.

TOTAL SOLUTIONS WITH FLEXIBLE ANDCOST-EFFECTIVE INSTALLATION OPTIONS

Mipro provides total solutions or the control o level crossings.The MiSO LC solution covers besides technology and equip

ment design, commissioning and subsequent maintenance.When designing and implementing MiSO LC system solutions,we always take international and national standards ully intoaccount.

MiSO LC system technology is based on a SIL4 certied (TVSd) system platorm, reliable electronics and eldprovenconnection principles. It includes all devices and componentsrequired to control a level crossing, such as backup powersupplies, manual remote and local control switches, barriermachine controllers and LED signal controllers.

MiSO LC sotware components can be installed in a separateeld cabinet located next to the level crossing, or example.

Existing acilities can be used or installations. The componentsare then urnished in a rack and located in applicable acilitieson the trackside or marshalling yard.

EFFECTIVE REMOTE AND LOCALDIAGNOSTICS TO ENSURE HIGH AVAILABILITY

MiSO LC provides versatile remote diagnostics to acilitate system maintenance and thus ensure high availability. It is capableo utilising several wireless data transmission protocols, such as3G, @450 and GSMR, to transmit critical inormation and diag

nostic data.

MiSO LC transmits ailure data, including ailure type and urgency level, directly to maintenance personnel: to their phonesor user interaces. Failure alarms are also transmitted to tra ccontrollers user interaces and indicated onsite. Onsite alarmsare visible on the ailure display located in the eld cabinet or anylocation where the equipment is installed.

RELIABILITY AND QUALITY BASED

ON A SIL4 APPROVED PLATFORM

MiSO LC is designed or demanding conditions. Hardwarehas a robust, solid construction and components have beentested in extreme conditions.

The MiSO LC system is approved by the Finnish TransportAgency. It conorms to CENELEC standards EN 50126, EN50128 and EN 50129 on Saety Integrity Level SIL4. It alsomeets the requirements o the Saety Management System

which means that general and branchspecic saety automation standards are ullled in system development work andproject implementation.
