what if we told another african story, a story cele-brating women's will, talent, potential, actions andcommitment to create new businesses and to forgeeconomic, political and cultural alliances with therest of the world? in what ways should africanwomen develop international partnerships? howshould they strengthen existing ties?
these many topics will be addressed by charismaticpersonalities, from an unprecedented angle whichflips the narrative, giving the continent the opportu-nity to take full control. throughout the summit, wia will demonstrate how africa can benefit from anew and optimistic story-telling to, at last, take overthe rightful leadership of its economic future.

CHANGE THE GAME OF OUR FUTURE RELATIONSthe international context, including the issue of migrants, makes itmore necessary than ever to reorient the relations between africa andeurope more decisively. and if we find a way to slow down africa's fi-nancial dependence on europe to end it in the near future? africaseeks a balanced relationship that has always been denied; europeansupport should not prevent the continent from following its own pathto development. and if a decision-making process thought by africanwomen was the key to a new partnership? first step: to ensure thatthey have a seat and a voice in all international decision-making plat-forms in africa. the economy, stability, the influence of foreign aid ondevelopment, all these topics will be discussed.
AFricA-ASiA FocuS
AFRICA-ASIA DYNAMICSwhile china is leading the way in investment in africa, india and japan, which have launched the asia-africa growth corridor (aagc), are alsovery active on the continent. in practical terms, what are the advan-tages and disadvantages of this asian partnership? often accused ofbeing an imperialist, china is accused of increasing the african debt, which has doubled in five years. how to reduce economic dependenceand improve the partnership with asia without falling back into the tra-ditional models of development aid, with a donor and a beneficiary?how to encourage both entities to strengthen their relationshipsthrough a process of mutual learning and discovering joint solutions?let's open the door to new opportunities for these two entities by crea-ting an international environment conducive to cooperation!
AFricA-uS FocuS
ENGAGING AMERICA IN A NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH A MORE VISIBLE AFRICArelations between africa and the United states are still marked by do-nald trump's controversial remarks on a continent whose narrative inamerica is still suffering from a distorted reality. according to theafrica narrative, egypt, south africa, seychelles, Kenya and congoconcentrate about 50 percent of a relative visibility in the Us media.
yet a new generation of african creative talents, entrepreneurs and bu-siness leaders is gaining ground on the world stage, and africanwomen remain the world champions of female entrepreneurship with25% of them involved in the launch of businesses. to encourage in-vestment, trade and development, it is however imperative to first re-verse the narrative by changing the american perception of thecountries of the continent and to think this narrative with its diversityand not as single story. we then need to find more effective ways tobetter position and broadcast "these" narratives in american news andentertainment media to build sustainable business relationships withUs government agencies, corporations, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Science FocuSSCIENCE: AFRICAN WOMEN AGENTS OF CHANGEMany women on the continent have succeeded in becoming leadersin the historically male science sector. they have even imposed them-selves by revealing themselves brilliant! Many african women couldfollow the path of their elders if they had access to their achievements.let's provide them with an appropriate academic path, create an en-vironment for more women scientists, engineers and doctors in africa.through this session, the researchers will serve as reference modelsand help define ways to stimulate the engagement of young africanwomen in scientific careers.
FocuS corruptionDOES CORRUPTION HAVE A SEX?in africa, the fight against corruption remains difficult. indeed, trans-parency international reveals the chronic incapacity of most countriesof the continent to effectively control corruption. yet it is a threat tothe economic development of countries. in a continent where muchmore work is needed to achieve greater parity, the question is whethercorruption would be less if women had greater access to positions ofresponsibility. if for some, better representation of women in key po-sitions of economic power would have a direct impact on corruptionrates. for others, on the other hand, the lower rate of women involvedin corruption may be explained by women's lower access to positionsof responsibility, which is conducive to corruption. so, can we say thatthe factors that encourage corruption are gender-related? is there acorrelation between the proportion of women in places of power andthe corruption index of a country? what could explain why women areless susceptible to corruption? speakers in this session will share in-sights and experience to try to shed light on these issues.
