This project serves the community. As an environmentfor co-living and families, it acts as a bridge betweenpeople from all walks of life. Here, many different peoplewill spend their time together through the semi-permanentmarket space that meets the need of a grocery store inthis food desert. It acts as a gateway for the communitiesto the south to feel included in the activity created by thedowntown mall. It also relatesto many users in an effort to draw people in with familiarity, but retain their respect and community through specialmoments created throughout the space.

Spatial Model StudiesFoundation Studio 3Manhattan, New York

The idea of light and void will inform the development of the project moving forward, We are in a preliminary stage of design and through these explorations I have discovered many momements that will be integrated in the design of the final structure. I will use this exercise throughout the semester and look to it for inspiring model making teqhniques as well as relationships.

The scale of this project will translate into the scale of the building in a way that addresses the space in conversation with the context. I studied very specific things in each model and that comes out as a collective bank of knowledge I can pull from for a wholistic building.
