Drawing on the work of Walter Wink (and also, Yoder, Berkhoff, Stringfellow), we can see corporisations in NT. And particularly clearly, in terms of the definition I have just given in Rev.1-3, the letters to the churches.

In those letters, note the Gk: progression within each 'letter' from addressing a singular entity to addressing the people that make up the church, plural verb forms.
