Essential Questions

• What is plagiarism?

• What does digital citizenship mean to you?

• How can you improve your digital literacy?

• How can you avoid plagiarism?

Understanding

• Students will understand what plagiarism is and how to avoid plagiarizing information.

• Students will gain knowledge about proper digital citizenship.

• Students will understand what digital literacy is and reflect on their digital literacy skills.

Performance

• Students will be in small groups (2-3) and will view, read, reflect, and inform the rest of the class on the resource given to them by the teacher. The resources will consist of material found on the following curated list:

• Students will address the key points of their given resource related to ethical use of information (digital citizenship/literacy, or plagiarism).

Assessment

• Students will be assessed based on the teacher observation of each group and collaboration between class members.

• Students will be assessed on the presentation of information based on the overall concept of ethical use of information.

Technology
