Mini Kicks Session Plan Activity: Objectives of the lesson: Differentiation: Equipment Needed: The Activity: Introduction (warm-up): Main Activity: Cool Down: Notes/Adjustments to activity: Notes/Adjustments to activity: Notes/Adjustments to activity: Tick Tock For younger children, slow down the speed of the clock. For older children, have them do skills around the clock instead of dribbling. For example, step over, drag back. To be able to dribble a football at a fast pace. To be able to understand a clock. Footballs, Cones and Ladder. Clock Face. Set up a circle of cones to create our clock. Have all the children around the outside of the clock. Firstly ask the children which direction a clock ticks. Then have the children run, skip, side-step, jump or hop at different paces around the clock. Tick Tock, Watch Out For The Clock! Within the circle ask a parent or assistant coach to help you hold a ladder, this is your clock hand. The clock hand then does a full circle whilst the children are dirbbling around the ouside. If the clock hand goes past the children before getting back to the start position, then they have been caught. Do this increas- ing the speed until all children are caught. Have all the children line up to score a goal. After scoring the goal/s, bring all the children in to recap on the session. Once all the children have been caught, take away the circle and use the ladder as a mobile goal. Have the children see if they can score 5 goals between them whilst the goal is moving.
