Give your mind permission to distance itself from all worries: Focus on the moment. Relax your muscles, and breathe comfortably. Count to sixty… slowly… then answer the following questions in writing. Describe the sensation of pen, pencil, or keyboard (or whatever you’re touching) against your fingers. Describe the sensation of clothes and air against your skin. Touch your arm with your fingers. What do you feel? Describe the sensation from the point of view of both fingers and arm. Mindfulness can be practiced anywhere. Just give yourself permission to step away from all worries and pay attention to sensation. (Oh, and coloring is optional!)
