Tony Buzan

- Was born 2 June 1942.- He is a proponent of the techniques of Mind Mapping- Following his 1970s series "Use Your Head" for the BBC, many of his ideas have been

set into his series of five books: Use Your Memory, Master Your Memory, Use YourHead, The Speed Reading Book and The Mind Map Book. He has since authored orco-authored over 100 books that have appeared in 30 languages

MIND MAP - Definition

Graphical method of taking notes. Their visual basis helps one to distinguish words orideas, often with colors and symbols.They generally take a hierarchical or tree branch format, with ideas branching into theirsubsections. Mind maps allow for greater creativity when recording ideas andinformation, as well as allowing the note-taker to associate words with visualrepresentations. Mind maps differ from concept maps in that mind maps focus on onlyone word or idea, whereas concept maps connect multiple words or ideas.

HOW TO USE MIND MAP

- Start in the center with an image of the topic, using at least 3 colors- Use images, symbols, codes, and dimensions- Select key words and print using upper or lower case letters- Each word/image is best alone and sitting on its own line

- The lines should be connected, starting from the central image - Make the lines the same length as the word/image they support- Use multiple colors throughout the mind map, for visual stimulation and also to encode or group
