Dear Parents and Community We are at the end of a very busy term and already halfway through the year which is amazing! Reports Thank you for your patience with reports. They will all be sent home with the children, sealed in envelopes tomorrow for you to share and discuss with your child/ren. Joint Schools STEAM Camp Last Thursday, our Year 4-6’s travelled to Watheroo to participate in the Joint Schools STEM Camp. Our Year 3’s also joined them for the day on Friday. It was such a fantastic experience for our students who were able to take part in a variety of workshops based around STEM with some great presenters. The students came back with such positive feedback and are keen to get started on their project next term. Thank you to Miss Lisa Wilson and Mr Paul White who stayed overnight with our students and to Mrs Susan Dennis who took the Year 3’s over on Friday. Check out our website later in the week for some details on the workshops and photos of our students participating. Jump Off Day On Thursday morning, we welcome you to come in to have a look at some of the amazing skills and tricks we have developed throughout our Jump Rope for Heart program this term. The student leaders have organised a demonstration for you, before the children move into groups to show off their skills at various stations, which we encourage you to participate in also. Just a reminder that Jump Rope sponsorship forms and money were due back on Monday so if you haven’t returned them, can you please do so as soon as possible. Even if they are empty, they need to be returned. Thank you. Naming School Clothes Unfortunately, we are still finding that many items of clothing, especially jumpers and jackets are coming to school without names on them. Can I please ask that you name every item of clothing that your child/ren wears to school. Even if it is a hand-me-down, it still needs your child’s name on the tag. We have a couple that have not been claimed by anyone so Mrs Lehmann has put them into the spare clothes box in the Junior Room. If your child is missing a jumper, please see Mrs Lehmann. Thank you. Cross Country On Friday, we will all meet in Dandaragan for our annual Colin Moore Cross Country Championships. Can I ask you to please be there to meet your teachers by 11.15am, for an 11.30am walkthrough of the course. Children must be in full school uniform and be wearing their school hat, which will come home on Thursday. Duty of Care Just a reminder regarding duty of care prior to school starting for next term; classrooms open at 8.30am which is when teachers and staff members take over duty of care. If you are bringing your child to school prior to 8.30am, they need to be supervised by a parent or carer until the classrooms have been officially opened, unless you have organised something with the classroom teacher prior to the day. Thank you for your cooperation with this. LADIES GOLF NOTES Finally – an update of ladies golf so far this year…. Apologies for the delay!!

PENNANTS:

Five of our ladies competed in the Pennants and came runner-up after a very

close competition this year. We were equal with Watheroo until the last match

that was played in Miling, but unfortunately Watheroo proved to be too good on

the day! Congratulations to Watheroo, and well done Miling on a hard-fought

game!!!

Thursday, 2nd June:

Despite a beautifully mown course (thanks to Jackson & Neil) and mostly fine

conditions (a bit of wind), the scores for most continued to be disappointing!

Winner for the day with the only decent score was Tania Turner with a 76 nett &

2nd place went to Sheryle Moore. Melissa Cameron also had a better day with 30

St points and got NTP No.17. Other NTP were Andrea on No.8 & Sheryle on

No.14.

Thursday, 9th June:

George Booth Traveltree Day 4BBB. We had a beautifully mown course and a

lovely day for golf despite only 14 degrees. A great score of 46 points for Tania

Turner and Susan Dennis won the day, & not far behind in 2nd place Jill Taylor &

Andrea Reynolds. NTP's No.2 Vikki Harrington and No.11 Susan Dennis. Tania

and Susan get to go to Perth for the Play-off in September – well done girls!!

Thursday, 16th June:

Jubilee 4's. Another perfect day for golf! The winners of this "challenging game"

were Jill Taylor & Vikki Harrington with 34 points and 2nd place went to Martha

Simpson and Tania Turner. NTP's No 8 Jill Taylor and No.17 Vikki Harrington. The

winners to play off at Gosnells Golf Club on Tuesday 30th August. Good luck girls!

Thursday, 23rd June:

Club Day -Par. A great field of 10 Ladies for our first game of Par for the year. The

winner with all square was Andrea Reynolds and 2nd place on -3 was Jill Taylor

who won the count back from 4 others, and 3rd went to Melissa Cameron. Two

lots of Queen of the Links were played leaving only one more to be played for

this round. Birdies for Andrea & Tania and NTP no.2 Angela & no.14 Sheryle.

Saturday, 25th June:

Brian Dennis Memorial – 27 holes of Stroke was played by 11 men and 10 ladies.

The winner for the day was Angela Humphry who played very consistent golf –

well done Ange! The runner-up was Tania Turner with a very decent score not far

behind. The putting competition was won by Jill Taylor with 27 putts. This week

the ladies will be playing a Stableford Competition sponsored by Sheryle Moore –

hope to see you all there!!
