Midnight Dreams to take over
Adler Planetarium
Prom will be hosted at Adler Planetar-ium from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. The theme for this year will be Midnight Dreams, with colors representations of black, midnight blue, and silver. The food will be served from trays by waiting staff throughout the night. Expect to have a filler of appetizers and finger foods. Music will be provided by Shaun Kelly, who will be representing ‘Spinnin Productions.’ Seniors will be having the time of their lives once prom arrives, and they cannot contain their excitement. Senior Aja Collins will be looking for-ward to seeing the prom attendants sparkle in their outfits. “I’m looking forward to see everyone dressed up amazingly,” Collins said. “I’m also looking forward to having a good time with ev-eryone I’ve shared my senior year with.” Senior Kierra Reeves can’t wait to just let loose with her friends while there. “I can’t wait until it’s time for me to get dressed up and put on a show,” Reeves said. “I just want to enjoy the day with no drama, just having fun for the last time.”
Senior Jalen Carter wants to have a good time with his friends and give a strong finish to his high school days. “I am looking forward to dressing up and just t’ing up for the day so that I can just finish out my final days of high school stronger than ever,” Carter said. “I also look forward to going with my friends and having a good time.” Senior Christian Bishop can’t wait to see how his friends will dress up at prom. “I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone looks and the scenery,” Bishop said. “My peers and I just don’t dress formally on any normal day, so it will be fun to see how everybody steps out.” Senior Jade Lopez will be looking for-ward to hanging out with her friends for the last time. “I am looking forward for the last time I get to spend with my friends as high school students,” Lopez said. “After prom and gradua-tion will be the last time I get to spend with all of them together before college.”

Never let someone or something hold you back;
people don’t have what you have to lose.
My hope is that all seniors find what they are looking for in life and don’t allow one bad day or one step
back deter them from their dreams.
Leave the past. I hope you aspire to live your best lives. I hope you
realize you are at the end of a long lasting chapter but are also beginning a
new one.
Never let bad energy predict what you are
going to do.
EditorialSeniors stay connected
to Thornwood Pretty soon, Thornwood seniors will be leaving us to continue their journeys through life and strive to greatness. It will be May 9th, when they leave, and they will be missed. But just because they are leaving Thornwood does not mean they are cut off from us complete-ly. There are plenty of ways for our soon to be graduate seniors to give back to Thornwood and still participate with us. One of these ways can be to just give a visit to Thornwood and of-fer to mentor and speak with different classes and students. Also, seniors could possibly give outside support to Thornwood. They could let the populace of the communities they live in know that this is where they graduated or give a few honorable mentions of their teachers. Finally, if teaching high schoolers is their ca-reer path, they could start right at Thornwood. It’s widely known that former students already tend to visit Thornwood and speak to classes. For instance, Mr. Gray has had some of his former entrepreneurship students return to Thornwood to discuss their successes to his classes. Also, AVID classes have seen former students come back to talk with them as well. In these AVID classes, they give advice to help prepare students, such as advising them to ap-ply for more scholarships. Also, they tell the current students that they need to take advan-tage of the resources Thornwood has to offer. They even go as far to talk about time manage-ment in college. Having former students come back to talk to classes is a good thing to do be-cause it boosts current students’ morale. It can make them believe that it is possible to achieve
their dreams and be successful in life. It’s always good to give an honor-able mention to the schools you graduated from. It can say you are a grateful person and very appreciative of those who help you. For instance, seniors can refer back to their favorite teachers or those who they feel helped them the most to get them where they are in their lives. Someone wouldn’t be able to get far in any academ-ic study without the support of a teacher to help guide them on to the right path. Seniors who want to grow up to be-come teachers have the easy option to re-turn to Thornwood to start teaching here. Seniors who would want to teach here would find it easier since they are already familiar with the atmosphere and the routes to take. It also shows a good com-mitment to Thornwood, which makes it all the easier when requesting for a job here. Many teachers here attended Thornwood as a kid already, so they are proof that se-niors can easily come back to teach the fu-ture generations that attend Thornwood. Seniors have a lot of options when it comes to staying involved with Thorn-wood. They could give references to Thorn-wood when they become successful in life, give visits to talk with different classes and share useful advice, or come back to Thorn-wood not as the student but as the teacher. Maybe they have their own creative ways or methods to continue being a part of Thornwood. Seniors will be missed, but they will never truly leave us completely.
