CAROL O'MEARA is an extension agent of horticulture entomology for Colorado State University Extension in Boulder County . She works with homeowners on landscape issues, manages the Boulder County Colorado Master Gardeners, and provides outreach on the emerald ash borer . Her gardening articles have appeared in the Denver Post, Boulder County Home and Garden Magazine, Edible Front Range, the Longmont Times-Call, Boul-der Camera, and Loveland Reporter-Herald .
DR . TAMLA BLUNT is a plant pathologist/research associate at Colo-rado State University in the bioagricultural sciences and pest management department . Dr . Blunt is familiar with a variety of plants that include green-house, forest, landscape, turf, and cropping situations and the associated disorders that accompany many of these plants . Dr . Blunt also teaches Landscape Plant Health Care, Plant Propagation, and Pesticide Safety and Use at Front Range Community College campuses in Westminster and Fort Collins, CO . At Colorado State University, she teaches online horticulture pathology classes and assists with Elements of Plant Pathology (BSPM361) .
ELVIN MARTIN has been the manager at Bainbridge Produce Auction for eleven years as well as the order buyer for the auction for the last five years .
LAURA BOWMAN along with her husband, Les, have four daughters, two are married and two still living at home that enjoy helping in the green-house . They have a small retail greenhouse that started out as a hobby in 1999, and has been growing ever since .
ART KING operates Harvest Valley Farms with his son, David, and his brother, Larry, in Valencia, PA, just north of Pittsburgh . Their marketing is just as diversified as their product list . Over 58 varieties of small fruits and vegetables are grown on 160 acres . They have a 409 member CSA, sell at three farmers markets, Paragon, Farm Market & Bakery in Gibsonia, and host pick-your-own pumpkin activities in October . Art holds a BA de-gree in nature conservation from California University, Calif ., PA and an associate degree in business management from Butler Community College . He is a past president of the Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association, serves on the PA Simply Sweet Onion Committee, and is a member of Royal Grange and PASA .
RORY LEWANDOWSKI is an Ohio State University Extension Educa-tor for Wayne County . In addition to providing programs and education for dairy, sheep, beef, and agronomic row crop producers, Rory maintains and coordinates an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) scouting program that focuses on commercial vegetable and fruit production . Cover crops and their use within cropping systems have been an area of interest throughout Rory's extension career and in his international development work . In addi-tion, Rory has used cover crops in his home garden for more than 15 years .
TIFFANY SUSTAR is the fifth generation of family working at Buchwal-ter Greenhouse located in Wooster, Ohio . Growing up around the green-house has provided her with unique experiences and knowledge in the greenhouse industry . Tiffany specializes in running the retail area, includ-ing making displays, creating mixed potted containers, hosting workshops, and providing customer service . In 2015, Tiffany helped to introduce the greenhouse to hosting weddings and events which she also now coordi-nates Tiffany graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish education . After teaching for 10 years in public schools, Tiffany decided to commit to working at Buchwalter Greenhouse full time and loves working alongside her family .
LARRY KLCO is owner operator of Rainbow Farms in Madison, Ohio . He started farming in 1983, with the help of his wife, children, in-laws, and grand children . They have grown to where they grow over 40 different fruits and vegetables . With the help of high tunnel production they are a year round farm market .
SALLY MILLER if a professor of plant pathology at the Ohio State Uni-versity, OARDC, and state extension specialist for vegetable crop disease management . She received her B .Sc . in biology at Ohio State University, and M .Sc . and Ph .D . in plant pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison . Her research and extension programs focus on disease diagnostics and

sustainable management of vegetable crop diseases in conventional and organic open field and protected environment production systems . Her lab provides clinical diagnostic services to vegetable producers . Dr . Miller works in collaborative projects on microbial food safety and the interac-tion of plan and human pathogens on produce . She has participated in in-tegrated pest management research and training programs in a number of countries . She is currently the Vice President of the American Phytopatho-logical Society .
LLOYD C SCHROCK is a retired farmer that spent most of his life on a diversified family farm that focused mostly on produce and dairy . For the past 15 years he has managed the Lincoln County Produce Auction and also been on the Food Safety Team . He is currently the lead trainer for FSMA .
AARON BURKHOLDER along with his wife, Phyllis, operate an 18,000 square foot Grower-Retail greenhouse in partnership with a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Brenda Burkholder . They started as a pro-duce farmer with a small greenhouse for vegetable plants in approximately 1993 . The Burkholder's grow 18 acres of produce every summer to sell at a roadside market from July-October . They also do grain farming and have 80 head of beef cattle annually .
ERIC & ANNE NORDELL have been growing organic vegetables in north-central Pennsylvania since 1983 . They are contributors to The Small Farmers Journal and Rural Heritage magazines . Their articles focus on cov-er crops, weed management, and alternative horse draw tillage . Both work-shops that the Nordell's present on Weed the Soil, Not the Crop is a slide presentation that will review their system for dramatically reducing weed pressure for certified organic vegetables . They will show how rotational cover cropping, bare fallow management, and shallow tillage have virtually eliminated hand weeding and made it possible to use living mulches and no-till/low-till methods without compromising weed control .
BRAD & SHELLY BRUBAKER are owners of Little Creek Valley Farm, raise their family and make their living within the realms of a cut-flower farm . It is a year round occupation for Brad . Harvest begins in March by utilizing hoop houses for season extension . The field production is intense-ly farmed on 1½ acres . Most of their flowers are sold by making weekly deliveries to florists and a few groceries . The week's sales wrap up on Sat-urday at a medium sized farmer's market . They also have a small you-pick strawberry field . Their income is supplemented by sharing their farm, flowers, and family with others through hosting Field to Vase Workshops . With seven years of cut-flower experience, they have much to share, yet they admit there are still many things to learn . Though the work can be hard, they appreciate the business God has blessed them with as it gives them the opportunity to interact with nature, work with family, and build relationships with others .
KEGAN WRIGHT is a fifth generation farmer from Wester Pennsylvania and enjoys pushing plants to their limits .
NEAL KINSEY from Charleston, Missouri, owns and operates Kinsey Agricultural Services, Inc ., a company which specializes in soil fertility management . Detailed soil audits determine specific fertilization programs based on each individual soil and its fertility requirements .
BOB SAGE is owner of Sage's Apple, a fruit and vegetable farm and market located in Chardon, Ohio . They have a LLC partnership with Bob's brother, John, and Bob and Linda's son, Ben works full time, and son, Jordan, part time . With about 15 part time employees, they specialize in over 50 variet-ies of apples on 25 acres, 3 acres of peaches, 15 acres of sweet corn, hand picked green beans, red raspberries, blueberries, pears, plums, pumpkins, gourds, and winter squash, all sold through their year round farm market . Bob and Linda have been married for 41 years and they have 6 grandchil-dren .
DAVID HULL is co-owner of White House Fruit Farm in Canfield and is a 1983 grad of The Ohio State University . He has served on the Board of Greenstar Co-op and is a grower of apples, peaches, strawberries, blueber-ries, and vegetables .

DR . ALAN WALTERS is a professor of vegetable science and breeding in the department of plant, soil, and agricultural systems at Southern Il-linois University Carbondale (SIUC) . He obtained his B .S .A . in agronomy from the University of Georgia in 1986, M .S . and Ph .D . degrees in horticul-tural science from North Carolina State University in 1991 and 1997, respec-tively . He had been at SIUC since 1998 and is responsible for teaching sev-eral classes including home gardening, commercial vegetable production, and crop physiology . His research has focused on many different applied cultural management aspects in vegetable production, including pollina-tion ecology of cucurbitaceae crops, reduced tillage practices for vegetable production; vegetable cultivar evaluations; vegetable crop fertility manage-ment systems; and horseradish production and breeding . He has also spent considerable amounts of time internationally in recent years focusing on integrated water and irrigation management in vegetable crops .
CARA FRAVER is with the National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) . She interprets federal programs and opportunities, like crop insurance, federal loans, and food safety regulations . Before joining the NYFC team, Cara owned and managed a diversified vegetable farm with her husband in upstate New York . Through working with the Berry Growers Association, she connected farmers with resources and education to improve their busi-nesses for more than 15 years .
DR . MATT KLEINHENZ is a professor and extension vegetable special-ist in the Dept . of Horticulture and Crop Science at The Ohio State Univer-sity . He is based at the Ohio Agriculture Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio . Matt and his collaborators have experimented with and harvested a range of vegetables in their unheated mid and high tunnels ev-ery month of the year .
AARON WEAVER has been beekeeping for 8 years and as a young lad he enjoyed watching his grandpa take care of his bees . He currently has 10 hives for honey production and queen rearing . His goal is to be sustain-able and have mite resistant, winter hardy bees by using the OTS method . He also has some hives on produce farms for pollination . Two of his sons help take care of the bees . They live in Wayne County, Ohio on a 2½ acre property . He also enjoys mentoring beginner beekeepers, and is a member of the Tri County Beekeepers Association .
RAYMOND YODER has a passion for growing crops from the land that are sustainable financially . His goal is to try to pass that on to the next gen-eration . Because of this he has been involved in a number of projects in the produce growing and marketing circles over the years .
ROBERT HERSHBERGER attended school for 8 years in a one room schoolhouse and worked on the farm in different positions . He started growing florwers by switching his hydroponic tomato house to flowers for the produce auction years ago . The produce auction is Robert's market for his flowers and mums today .
CHARLES KRATZER is part of the family owned business Walnut Creek Planing . He works as a sales rep and takes satisfaction in supplying his cus-tomers' needs with the help of a great team of associates .
KRYSTAL SNYDER is the technical specialist at JR Peters, Inc . She gives labortory interpretations and technical support for the Jack's Professional product line . She has a B .S . in horticulture from Delaware Valley University . She lives in Easton, PA, with her husband, Justin, daughters, Alexia and Lucy, and two Australian cattle dogs .
JUDY SHARPTON is the owner of Growing Places Marketing . Since 1994, Growing Places Marketing has provided store development services exclusively for independent garden centers and farm markets with a focus on physical development, category development and branding . Judy writes for a number of industry publications and offers program content to trade groups and individual vendors through Growing Places’ Store School® . Judy tends a personal retreat garden at the edge of 85 acres of salt marsh near Savannah, GA . She enjoys hiking, boating and birding with her husband Buddy and their dog Dylan .
