Example :I was late to work.He ran fast.

Dependent ClauseDefinition:A dependent clause is a group of words that contains a subject and verb but does not express a complete thought. Often a dependent clause is marked by a dependent marker word.Some common dependent markers are: after, although, as, as if, because, before, even if, even though, if, in order to, since, though, unless, until, whatever, when, whenever, whether, while.Example: Because I woke up late this morning When we arrived in class When Jim studied in the Sweet Shop for this chemistry quiz exercisesDecide which of these clauses are Independent and which are dependent clause. Simple sentenceDefinition:A Simple Sentence consist of a subject a verb and an object. It contains one complete thought or one independent clause.Example:Somestudentsliketo study in the morning.JuanandArturoplayfootball every afternoon.Aliciagoesto the library andstudiesevery day.

Kinds of simple sentence:

A complex sentence always has a subordinator such as because, since, after, although, or when (and many others). Or a relative pronoun such as that, who, or which.Examples:
