Five Anim al Movem entsasDynamic Healing Sounds

by Michael WinnThere are many different versions of the animal movements, since many chi kung movements are

inspired by the graceful, effortless way animals move in nature. These can be done walking in a circle, reversing direction periodically for balance. Traditionally there are up to five movements for eachanimal; these are some that work well with the healing sounds.T I G E R (metal/lungs) Feel Courage, Integrity, Release Grief1. Hisses as it prowls. Gather chi in palms as they rise up to chest on inhale, extend finger/claws out onexhale. Step left and right, eyes fierce, hissing lung sound. Clears lungs of trapped emotion, chistagnation, depression.2. Scares off the enemy. Standing, squat and rise 3 or 4 times as fingers claw the air in front, hissing"Hehhhch". Cross arms, count to three, exhale sharp "Ho!" as arms chop to sides. Clears lungs, strengthen spleen and kidneys.

BEAR (water/kidneys) Feel Deep Wisdom Stir, Release Fear1 . Shakes the earth. Arms loose at sides, step forward, weight on ball of rear foot. Shake from thekidneys 3x. Take another step, repeat. Warms kidney yang (adrenals), loosens low back. Silent.2. Tosses fear aside with ease. Step right foot forward, stretch forward with both arms on inhale, clawto left side and behind you, exhaling "Chuuu". Then left foot steps, release right. Clears fear.

DEER (wood/liver) Feel Kindness, Release Anger1. Prances thru the Green forest. Put hands to side of head like deer antlers. Step forward, whole bodysprings up as arms arc up and away, hissing "Shhhhh". Feel all tendons and joints open and close.

CRANE (fire/heart) Feel Joyful & Serene, Release Self-Judgement, . Crane Stands. Arms flap up and down. Silently focus on outside of arms.2. Crane prepares to fly. Walk & flap arms. Inhale, feel chi on inside of arms, exhale Hahhh.3. Crane flies. Lift knee and arms together. Feel chi up center of body to heart. Inhale Chuuu, exhaleHahhh.

MONKEY (earth/spleen) Feel Balanced & Playful, Release Worry1. Eats the Banana. Step forward, Draw all 10 fingers at navel level together and pull them up to mouth, lifting shoulders as inhale "Huuu". Exhale "Hoooh" as hands & shoulders drop down.Other foot steps. Suck guts up to mouth with each movement to exercise digestive tract.2. Looks Left and Right. Same movement up to mouth, then hands separate, one palm opens at side of face, other palm pushes down to side of waist. Activates yin and yang function of spleen/pancreas/stomach.

Six Healing SoundsHow to Deepen their PowerBy Michael Winn

    1. SOUND vibrates the chi to begin flowing chi gets trapped in body tissues, causing disease or psychological tension. sound shapes & re-organizes chi into new, more functional pattern.'. sound can convert body essence (jing) into chi flow.. releasing great energy. concentrate mind inside organ/meridian while doing sound. sub-vocal sounds impact subtle chi flow; voiced sound vibrates physical. each sound is ttle name of the elemental spirit you- call to help you ..2. SHAPE the chi flow with INTENTION. to get .your desired result . ask the Ufe Force to help you change yourself Immediately. imagine physrcal body shifts into its energy body; it's easier to change. ask which level most needs change? . body, mind, or spirit? go inside the organ/body-mind part, feel it's your home, you live inside it. do inner smile into organ/energy channels while. resting between sounds.

s expand each organ to feel your entire body is a giant lung, heart. etc.3. RHYTHM of body movement It breath directs chi flow'. arm movement directs sick chi to leave body or to move along a meridian. use slow breath/arm move for chronic issues, fast exhalation for acute. standing posture adds earth chi, ca n ground chi flow into phYSical body. shift from nose to skin-breathing, breathe chi cloud directly into whole body.

    4. COLOR Intensifies the purity ot chl flow color tells the Ufe Force which element/phase is being invoked. fill the vital organ with colored vapor, breathe out dirty color & toxins. fill entire body with pure cloud of super-charged vapor; sick chi cannot hide. color infuses & intensifies chi flow from energy body into physical body. absorb natural color: green grass, red flame, yellow sun, white cloud. blue ocean

    5. FEELING deepens the quality of chi flow hug your wounded inner child physically; hold the body/organ, talk nice to it. embrace & accept the emotions trapped within organ, smile to its spirit. to feel emotion clearly. locate in body and intensify it, even if unpleasant. sitting posture is best for going deep within mind, with no body distraction. th in k 1 re lea se my n eed to ho ld o n to n eg . em o tio n lth o ughe as you do so un d. After clearing each orgar;/meridian, fill it with a virtue that resonates.(fire=love, earth=trust~ metal=strength, water=wisdom, wood=kindness) Listen to inner spirit-child of each organ/element, get its advice on healing.
