Key Components:
• Opportunities for the Council to ask questions of the administration and other settlement participants.
• Opportunities for the community members to ask questions of the administration and Council.
• Review of proposed agreement requested from the following state agencies: Department of Health (Water Quality Division), Department of Natural Resources (Geology Division), and Department of Archeology and Historic Preservation, as well as JBLM and the Nisqually Tribe. Feedback and discussion with Council about their assessment and briefing to Council about the role each of them has in implementing the plan.
• 60-‐day comment period, beginning July 12 (as requested by residents)
• Site visits with settlement partners for Council and available to the public.
• Assessment and recommendation of code changes necessary to create or modify if the settlement agreement is agreed upon; followed by clear process and timeline to make code changes that involves the appropriate city agencies and public participation.
• Assessment and recommendation of any budget and staffing impacts necessary
if the settlement agreement is agreed upon.
