TRANSCRIPT
Activities in this festival represent Fundamental skills and movements including Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. Although there will be a competitive element to this festival the main focus is for the children to have fun and test themselves on their ability. The festival is aimed at Year 1/2/3/4 pupils. The festival also covers all the National Curriculum KS1 PE sports (Gym, Dance, Games) and in-cludes the 4 strands for PE assessment, 1. Acquiring & Developing Skills 2. Selecting & Applying Skills 3. Evaluate & Improving Performance 4. Knowledge & Understanding Following a whole group warm up (The Bean Game/Simon Says/ Traffic Lights) the leaders will group the children into teams. The number of children in each team will depend on the group size, 2—8 per station. Also the timing for stations will also be dependant on the team sizes 2min—8mins. There should be 1/2 leaders allocated to a group as a team manager. The team manager will guide the group round all stations and record the teams results. Leaders should demonstrate all stations before the children take part (Central time keeper should allow 1min at each station for explanations and demonstrations). Leaders will record all individuals scores for each station. Leaders should also encourage the children to self evaluate in order to improve their own performance.
