The Flexible Training Unit works with long term unemployed men. The courses

take place over a ten week period for two days a week Monday and Tuesday from

9.30am to 4.00pm.

If you join one of our programmes you will have an opportunity to take part in the

following training

FETAC Accredited Modules:

Computer literacy (basic computer skills). FETAC Level 3

In the computer literacy module you can learn to use the basic functions

of the personal computer (P.C.)

Printmaking FETAC Level 3

This is a project-based module, which means you will research, develop,

design and make a craft item in a fine art print for printmaking and com-

plete a design portfolio of work for the module.

Occupational First Aid FETAC level 5

This course is organised at the end of the ten week training. It takes

place over three days and if successful you will get an Occupational

First Aid certificate valid for 2 years.

Horticulture FETAC Level 3

Our horticulture class runs for two hours on Tuesday afternoon. This in-

cludes basic training in planting, gardening, flower boxes and garden de-

sign and maintenance.

General Educational Development: Personal/work skills course

This is decided and finalised when the training group has been chosen and

the needs of the participants identified.

One of the main aims of this module is to assist participants in making effec-

tive decisions regarding their future education or work possibilities.

The Flexible Training Unit holds all its training courses in its premises in Brook-

field, this means all the participants are in a comfortable friendly environment and

get a chance to relax and enjoy the learning experience.
