The "out- laws" referred to by the govern- ment-owned news agency are be- lieved to be members of the separatist Damascus-based Eri- trean Liberation Front, a Mos- lem faction that seeks autonomy from Ethiopia. Jack Benny, Lucy Star In Laugh Riot on TV TWO MASTERS of long takes combine for a very fast-moving, funny 30 minutes of "Here's Lucy" when Jack Benny hires a secretary to transcribe his autobiography. This is the one that shows what a great ladies' man Jack was — "I Am Curi- ous, Jello." Anyway Lucy, in a succession of wigs, plays these ladies: Jack's mother; Zelda the waitress; Myrtle the vaude- villian; Mary Livingstone, his wife (yes, that's Mary's voice you hear with Lucy mouthing the words) and Lola, the glamorous star. This proves you can't beat two pros for good solid laughs. (8:30 p.m., Ch. 4). UN- EVEN THE MOST die-hard fan will be hard put to laugh at the obvious stuff on "The Red Skelton Show." Mickey Rooney is the guest and the major skit has Red as Ludwig von Hum- perdoo busy inventing — well, that's the punch line. In the Si- lent Spot, Red's a house detec- tive with a larcenous female giving him trouble. (7:30 p.m., Ch. 2). fe -- "THE YOUNG LAWYERS" deals with the rights of children in a script which tempts one to say it's cute. Actually, it has more substance than that, deal- ing with a young minister (Martin Sheen) who is housing homeless youngsters. The question here is: do the children have any legal right to say where they want to live? Sherry Lynn Diamant plays the oldest of the kids, and little Su- san Neher (Penny on To Rome With Love), Ted Foulkes and Ezekial Williams are other tykes. (7:30 p.m., Ch. 7). if. "GUNSMOKE" is concerned with a father and son who want to do the right thing and testify against a cold-blooded mur- derer. But the murderer has a family that moves in with the two witnesses' family and — causes the father to change his story. Dack Rambo, who used to be Walter Brennan's grand- son on The Guns of Will Son- nett, is the handsome, evil kill- er and Tim O'Connor is the fa- ther with the dilemma. (7:30 p.m., Ch, 4). DESI ARNAZ guest stars in "Rowan and Martin's Laugh- In." Desi plays an airplane hi- jacker, a hungry bum and a used car salesman in several skits which co-star Dan and Dick and Arte Johnson, Ruth Buzzi, Henry Gibson and the rest of the Laugh-In regulars. Even Desi's conga drums make the scene, as he returns briefly to his "Babalu" days. (8 p.m., Ch. 2). te"- THE PLOT on "Mayberry R.F.D." can be told in one sen- tence: Sam's friends decide to do the. neighborly thing and paint his house for him. But the way they go about it and Sam's reactions to their general incompetence make this a very Today's Television WOR.TV NBC WBEN-TV CBS WKBW-TV ABC 6:30 6:45 Window On The World Summer Semester Window On The World (6:25) 7:00 7:15 7:30 7:45 Today Show Host Is Hugh Downs, Interviews, CBS Morning News; With John Hart 8:00 8:15 8:30 8:45 Fashions, News Topics, Guest Stars, Reviews Employment (6:55) Janeen M'well (7) Rocketship Dave Thomas, Capt. "MONDAY NIGHT FOOT- BALL" shifts to Philadelphia, where the Eagles host the New York Giants, winners of six games in a row. The Giants are locked in a three-way battle for the championship of their divi- sion with the Washington Red- skins and the St. Louis Car- dinals and this game is a big one for them. Keith Jackson, Don Meredith and Howard Co- sell call the action and, as Co- sell says, "I wasn't thrilled about having this game on the schedule, but with the race so tight it should be interesting." (9 p.m., Ch. 7). TONY BENNETT appears on "The Doris Day Show," which, as you know, is set in San Fran- cisco, which leads to the sur- prise of the week: he sings "I Left My Heart in San Fran- cisco." He and Doris also do "Just in Time," in a show in which Doris introduces him to that small Italian restaurant in her building, with the big- mouthed owner (Kaye — only she has changed it to Kay — Ballard). Originally, this was written for Perry Como, but he is a guest on Doris' special, so Tony was cast. (9:30 p.m., Ch. 4). te-- "THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW" has another winner with two outstanding skits. In one, Paul Lynde is the friendly insurance salesman from the All-Heart Co. (if your home burns down on Valentine's Day, you get double indemnity) until it's time to pay a claim. In the other, Dyan Cannon is a weal- thy widow with a compulsion to give her money away in another chapter of As the Stomach Turns. There's also a skit with Carol and Harvey as an arrogant pair of actors who get their come- uppance from the prop and soundmen. Carol as the char- woman sings "Try to Remem- ber" and Dyan sings "Until It's Time For You To Go." Jack Benny, Lucy Star In Laugh Riot on TV

TWO MASTERS of long takes combine for a very fast-moving, funny 30 minutes of "Here's Lucy" when Jack Benny hires a secretary to transcribe his autobiography. This is the one that shows what a great ladies' man Jack was — "I Am Curious, Jello." Anyway Lucy, in a succession of wigs, plays these ladies: Jack's mother; Zelda the waitress; Myrtle the vaude-villian; Mary Livingstone, his wife (yes, that's Mary's voice you hear with Lucy mouthing the words) and Lola, the glamorous star. This proves you can't beat two pros for good solid laughs. (8:30 p.m., Ch. 4).

UNEVEN THE MOST die-hard

fan will be hard put to laugh at the obvious stuff on "The Red Skelton Show." Mickey Rooney is the guest and the major skit has Red as Ludwig von Hum-perdoo busy inventing — well, that's the punch line. In the Silent Spot, Red's a house detective with a larcenous female giving him trouble. (7:30 p.m., Ch. 2).

fe--"THE YOUNG LAWYERS"

deals with the rights of children in a script which tempts one to say it's cute. Actually, it has more substance than that, dealing with a young minister (Martin Sheen) who is housing homeless youngsters.

The question here is: do the children have any legal right to say where they want to live? Sherry Lynn Diamant plays the oldest of the kids, and little Susan Neher (Penny on To Rome With Love), Ted Foulkes and Ezekial Williams are other tykes. (7:30 p.m., Ch. 7).

i f .

"GUNSMOKE" is concerned with a father and son who want to do the right thing and testify against a cold-blooded murderer. But the murderer has a family that moves in with the two witnesses' family and — causes the father to change his story. Dack Rambo, who used to be Walter Brennan's grandson on The Guns of Will Son-nett, is the handsome, evil killer and Tim O'Connor is the father with the dilemma. (7:30 p.m., Ch, 4).

DESI ARNAZ guest stars in "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In." Desi plays an airplane hijacker, a hungry bum and a used car salesman in several skits which co-star Dan and Dick and Arte Johnson, Ruth Buzzi, Henry Gibson and the rest of the Laugh-In regulars. Even Desi's conga drums make the scene, as he returns briefly to his "Babalu" days. (8 p.m., Ch. 2).

funny episode for series regulars. (9 p.m., Ch. 4).

"MONDAY N I G H T FOOTBALL" shifts to Philadelphia, where the Eagles host the New York Giants, winners of six games in a row. The Giants are locked in a three-way battle for the championship of their division with the Washington Redskins and the St. Louis Cardinals and this game is a big one for them. Keith Jackson, Don Meredith and Howard Co-sell call the action and, as Co-sell says, "I wasn't thrilled about having this game on the schedule, but with the race so tight it should be interesting." (9 p.m., Ch. 7).

TONY BENNETT appears on "The Doris Day Show," which, as you know, is set in San Francisco, which leads to the surprise of the week: he sings "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." He and Doris also do "Just in Time," in a show in which Doris introduces him to that small Italian restaurant in her building, with the big-mouthed owner (Kaye — only she has changed it to Kay — Ballard). Originally, this was written for Perry Como, but he is a guest on Doris' special, so Tony was cast. (9:30 p.m., Ch. 4).

te--"THE CAROL B U R N E T T

SHOW" has another winner with two outstanding skits. In one, Paul Lynde is the friendly insurance salesman from the All-Heart Co. (if your home burns down on Valentine's Day, you get double indemnity) until it 's time to pay a claim. In the other, Dyan Cannon is a wealthy widow with a compulsion to give her money away in another chapter of As the Stomach Turns.

There's also a skit with Carol and Harvey as an arrogant pair of actors who get their comeuppance from the prop and soundmen. Carol as the charwoman sings "Try to Remember" and Dyan sings "Until It's Time For You To Go." (10 p.m., Ch. 4).
