The 2014 Fall Round Cam-paign is focused on growing the membership of all Scout-ing units throughout Santa Fe Trail Council. The cam-paign is centered on “event based recruiting” where Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Ven-tuer are given an opportunity to experience Scouting activi-ties before joining a local Scouting unit. This key method to recruiting is to concentrate on outdoor ad-venture for prospective members.

The 2014-15 Program Theme for the council is to “leave no youth inside”. In a recent family survey 60% of participants said that their son did not participate in any outdoor activities. For the proper development of youth an outdoor adventure such as Scouting is great resource to introduce outdoor adven-tures in a safe and fun meth-

od for youth of southwest Kansas.

The Santa Fe Trail Council is providing new Cub Scout and Boy Scout handbooks for all new members who join between August 15, 2014—December 15, 2014. Any new member that signs up and pay their membership fee will receive the age ap-propriate handbook This a $2,000 investment in the Scouting Units that serve the 19 counties of southwest Kansas by Santa Fe Trail Council. The handbook is a great reading source to help Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts learn about the great outdoor adventures that await them by joining a Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop and Ven-turer Crew.

The Cub Scouting recruiting method is a bike

rodeo adventure in their community. Boy Scout T r o o p s and law enfor c e - m e n t a ge nc i e s will be conduct- ing the bike ro- deo event and those y o u t h interested can sign up with area Cub Scout packs. Popcorn Fall Campaign 2014

The top 50 popcorn salesman will participate in the 2nd Pop-corn prize cave event for 2014! Those top 50 selling Scouts are recognized with a T-shirt and their name on a banner showing t h e i r r a n k -ing in t h e coun- cil. A “prize c a v e ” tour is g i v e n to the Scouts who sold over $2,500 in which the Scout goes in and picks a prize starting with the top seller first. The scout goes in and browses and comes out with his pick for a picture and shows everyone what he selected.

The council popcorn com-mittee, chaired by Tracy Henry,

is planning a great sale so that Scouts can have a banner year of outdoor adventures for the 2014-15. The 2014 popcorn sales campaign will also have a “prize cave” for next top selling Scouts. Unit Popcorn Chairs are to attend the Popcorn Training Extravaganza event set for Sat-urday, September 20, 2014 to learn about the product line and key campaign dates.

OA Rendezvous October 17-19, 2014—Mandan Scout Camp & Training Center

The OA Rendezvous is schedule for Mandan Scout Camp and Training Center on October 17-19, 2014. This is a great out-door program event that offers a number of program stations for Cub Scouts and Scouters to enjoy a grand outdoor adven-ture. Down load registration forms on the council website.

Council Scout Robotics

Philmont Contingent 2015 SIGN UP NOW!

The trip is scheduled for June 27 – July 11, 2015.

Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America's largest national high adventure base. For many Scouts, a trip to Philmont is the highlight of their Scouting experience. Most Scouts experience Philmont as part of their Troop or Crew. However, that option may not be available to every Scout.

That is why Santa Fe Trail Council has organized 2 contin-gents for 2015 to provide Scouts with the opportunity to attend Philmont and have the adven-

ture of a lifetime with other Scouts and leaders throughout the council. Each contingent is limited to 9 youth and 3 adults.

Participants must be at least 14 years of age. Please contact us for more information:
