Public Meeting Notice Gainesville/Alachua County Local Intergovernmental Team Workshop on the EPA Proposed Plan for the Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site The Local Intergovernmental Team (LIT), which consists of representatives from the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department (ACEPD), Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), Alachua County Health Department (ACHD), Gainesville City Manager's office, as well as other Technical Consultants, will be holding the first of two public meetings to discuss proposed comments to US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Proposed Cleanup Plan for the Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the City Hall Auditorium which is located at 200 East University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. This meeting will be conducted as a workshop, where members of the Local Intergovernmental Team will present an overview of the EPA’s proposed plan and preliminary issues and recommendations to the public for discussion and input. The Team will then present its issues and recommendations to the City and County Commission at the Joint City/County Commission meeting on Monday, August 30, 2010, which will be the second public meeting. At the second meeting, the public can provide additional comments which the City and County Commission may request to be incorporated into the LIT comments to be submitted to the EPA by the Proposed Plan Public Comment deadline of September 15, 2010.
